  • ?What do you hate about traveling?

As we all know we love to travel but what don't you like? I hate the packing and figuring what to wear or take with me. I also hate the mess at the airport, waiting in lines and long layovers or even changing planes. I also hate when the weather messes up my plans!! How dare Mother Nature to mess with ole Shaggy!! I hate the mishaps and injuries I've sustained but it does make for interesting memories.

    What about you?

I will be doing the opposite question next so don't tell us what you like the best this time. OK?

The two things I hate the most would be bad weather, and long delays/cancellations in airport.

Oh, and of course coming back home.....

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

The time from home to getting checked in and dumping our cases with the airline. I do all the planning and once we are checked in any other problems are outside me control. I can relax. I don't like being delayed, but it doesn't phase me.

Getting seated next to the "endless talker"

I like to relax, nap, read a book, etc. while flying. But occasionally you get the person who will not stop chatting.

Of everything, I hate the flying bit the most: I have a toddler and will soon have a newborn, and I am always concerned 1) that they might change my carefully planned flights and seats, and 2) what the kid(s) might get up to in the plane. VERY stressful. Only when we are 10 minutes from landing, and my son has been a good boy, do I start to relax. During the vacation, I often worry about the trip back.... Not good.

On our last trip, to Hawaii, we decided that we will do no more than a 3 hour trip for the next few years. I think I will be able to handle this better, and at least fully enjoy my vacation. The down side is that my family are in South Africa, and DH's are in the UK, and by limiting ourselves to 3 hours, we will not go back in the next few years....

Not knowing where we are is one that gets to me. If I am driving and the signs are not in english well chances are I am lost.

Of coarse getting bumped at the air port is not fun.

I hate flying. I'm not actually frightened, I just dread it. The longer the flight, the more unhappy I am. I hate the way the plane feels and the bad air quality and being up so close to other passengers and being crunched into a seat for a long time and being in the air a long time. I hate cramming my stuff under the seat in front of me and in the overhead racks and fighting to get room for my stuff and my feet. I really, really hate when the person in front of me reclines his/her seat right into my face.

              It's just all so unpleasant.

But getting there is great! I LOVE when the plane lands.

                Hate Most

I love to travel, but what I hate most is deciding what to take. I always overpack.

I hate packing, the travelling (whether driving or flying) to the timeshare, and then the travelling from the timeshare to home -- and then unpacking!

                        That's easy....

24 hours before we leave.....getting ready to go and packing for four......then having to come home and unpack and catch up. Otherwise everything is usually great.

I hate getting up early to check out.

I'm not an early riser and my husband is even less of one, having a night job.

I hate packing when we're flying I always take to much. When we're driving it doesn't matter. Getting to the airport so early and the long lines to check in and go through security. Being packed like sardines in the aircraft especially for flights of more than 3 hrs. Because we usually fly American Airlines using FF miles we have to go through Dallas and that morning flight gets earlier every year! It used to leave about 8AM and when I looked for next year it's scheduled at 6.22AM I think we'll take the afternoon flight and overnight in Dallas. We're really not morning people. I do have to say I enjoy our road trips more. And of course like Lawren I hate the wait between vacations!
