I finally got around to checking Hotwire for two upcoming trips, one to Tampa in February and to Maui in April. I don't know what you guys are doing, but in both cases the reservations I currently have (with Avis) are almost half, if not more, what I'm seeing on Hotwire.

I checked for rentals in Orlando for my upcoming trip and I'm seeing really high prices as well through Hotwire. I'm not seeing anything special that some of the others are.

Keep checking Hotwire as the prices (and great deals!) seem to appear and disappear. Tuesday evening early, we saw our 3 week rental for Lihue in February for $14.95 a day. Later Tues evening that price dissappeared. Early Wed. morning the price was still high, but about 10:30 a.m., the price was back down to $14.95 a day. We grabbed it!
I just got an email about prices dropping in STT...it's because I did a dummy search not knowing your dates. Get on there, make an account and start searching-I bet once they know you are looking then you will get solicited-doesn't hurt!

Prices for KOA and LIH were expensive earlier this a.m., but right now, again, have dropped to $17.95 (full) and lower for dates in Feb - March 2010!
