is there a TS4Ms event or is there someone you know there? Is JB FF program by miles flown or dollars spent?

My Close friend is working there and has been trying to get me down there for some time. His family is in NY and he will be back in NY soon but he needed to work in the Florida area for about a year. I am not sure how Jetblues FF points program works. If it goes by miles that makes this an even better deal.
