$800 plus tax for the week for a couple. A good deal. And all the legwork is done - hotels aren't bad though not sure I'd pick them all. That's a nice way to do the region in any event, it's among the areas where moving around really does make sense. When I was last in SFO we took a t/s for the week but then paid for a room in Napa while our t/s sat empty.

It doesn't include air, but cars have not been cheap lately so that's a good perq. Still a good price, and definitely a good way to visit the region. Even if someone wanted to put their own package together with different hotels and pay more, this is a good way to do it.

Gate 1 has alot of good deals.
I haven't tried them yet but I get alot of emails from them with bargains.

Also, Hertz seems to always be ridiculously expensive.
I usually rent from Alamo. I find them waaaaaay cheaper.

I just signed up with Gate1 and this was in my first email so I was impressed and will continue to pay attention. I think Hertz may do more corp. business but isn't as competitive on a one-off basis.
