  • Redweek Deal (MHO) on Four Seasons Troon

I'm not selling this so I couldn't post a "For Sale" post. Mods, please move this if you'd like, but.......

There is a silver (lower) season Four Seasons Troon (Az) unit for sale on Redweek for $6,900. This is faaar below anything I've seen. The MFs are very high, $1952 (great year !), but the trades you could get !

Just an FYI. I have no monetary, personal or other interest in this except to alert the "Forums Nation" faithful of this. I stayed there once and it was THE best timeshare I've ever been to. True Four Seasons quality and ambience in the incredible Arizona Sonoran dessert. Heaven.

I wonder how well it would really trade when the developer uses these summer weeks for bulk deposits? The price is sure right though!

Why would anyone trade a unit that had an MF of $1952? Ouch. That's a lot for one week.

I have seen several silver weeks at the Four Seasons Scottsdale resort for sale in this price range over the past couple of years...including a couple that were priced even less than this one.

It's been very tempting to purchase one, but I have not done so. The reason: I NEVER want to visit Scottdale during the summer. (As an aside, if I did want to stay at the Four Seasons during silver season, I could easily exchange in every year using my Marriott week with maintenance fees of only $637 per year...summer at the Four Seasons Scottsdale is a very easy exchange.)

So why purchase? As others have said, the maintenance fees are simply too high for a week to use for exchange...and there is no guarantee that a silver Four Seasons week will have top trade power. Silver Marriott weeks certainly don't. There's just no way that I can see to justify owning a silver Four Seasons week. The fact that they are for sale for such a low price indicates that a lot of other would-be buyers feel the same.

Does this week come with any sort of internal exchange priority for other Four Seasons resorts & time periods? If it did, that might make it worthwhile.

Otherwise, I'd have to second the idea that the MFs are too high for a trading week, especially in the off-season.

If I can recall what the saleman told me (heh, heh) is that owners can put in a request for an exchange into the Gold Season ahead of non-owners or something to that extent.

Again, to all, it's a bargain to only a select few (those for whom it work out for). Just wanted to post it in case some poor unenlightened buyer was considering plunking down $18k or more for the same season. We're here to help, ma'am !

Yes, $1952 (great year !) is high, but I would guess that the trading power on II is decent.

This is a fantastic resort in the shoulder season (I was there late Oct. 2004) and would live there if given the chance.
