Southwest Airlines 40th Anniversary Huge Fare Sale

After looking around for a few days we booked again on American. SW wanted over $1200 to waste most of our day changing planes and stops and now again we book non-stop for $768.00 total amount.

Its bad enough SW wants to take you anywhere first other than where you want to go but then charge you for it and call it a sale is funny.

This will be third trip to Dallas since DD moved there and three times on same flight after trying for these so-called sales on SW.

So you have never actually sat in a SW seat, right? Sorry, the data is just not there to support your daughter's perception.

In my first post I stated I have never flown SouthWest so its obvious I never set in a SW seat but our daughter has and her husband to be who is 6'2" and has trouble getting in and out of seats on SW.

I have been on many flights over the years and found there are differences in seats other than just the 30-32" leg room. Some flights easy to get in and out of while others harder. Can just be angle of seats or foot space but not all planes are the same.

I will take my daughters word who is 5'9" and Chris 6'2" over some seat listings.

If there was no difference why would American change our seats when we showed up at the airport last trip with a cane because of knee replacement. Agent stated he was changing both flights seating so I would have more leg room.

BTW, I'm 6'5" and I have flown Southwest on several occasions. I have always felt I had more room in those seats than most other airlines.

SW works very well for some/many people and not so well for others.

Seems you just want to argue about the leg room and your so called facts. First of all I couldn't careless what readers have to think about my statement or as you put it my daughters perception!

I'm shocked you haven't tried to argue about the extra $400 because SW can't seem to fly a direct route to large airports. What I get without the so called sale is saving over $400 for our two round trip tickets and only flying for 3 1/2 hours and not 6:15 to 9hrs because of layovers and plane changes.

Sw has flights that take you from Calif and go past Dallas by thousands of miles to change planes then charge you more for the extra miles you don't want or need!

I posted the facts of the seat pitch, along with the source of those facts, to directly contradict your statement that the leg room on SW's planes is "just not there". Obviously, you have no clue as to what a "fact" is.

As I stated earlier, SW probably will not be the best choice if they don't fly directly to where they want to go. As several others have posted, the "sale" really was a good deal for them, but obviously not for all.

There is no point in going on with this because you seem to be just a no-it-all that knows more than others [in your opinion]. I will take the word of my family who has flown many times on SW and say its harder to get into some of the seats and small amount of leg room.

Also when American changes my seat to make it easier to get into a seat and out with knee replacement.What gives you the idea that SW doesn't have seats with small space,not all seats are the same on all flights! You sound like these other two on Redweek that know everything and smarter than anyone else IN THEIR OPINION!

Maybe you think a "no-it-all" just knows how to search the web?
