New CityPass Deal Lets You Stretch the Bargains Into 2012 - SmarterTravel.com
The CityPass family of multi-attraction passes is running a winter promotion. Buy a pass for a participating city on or after December 15 and use it through February 29 (rather than just for the standard nine days). Participating cities (and pass prices) are $46 for Boston, $59 for Hollywood, $79 for New York, $59 for Philadelphia, and $59 for Seattle, with reduced rates for children two through 12. The promotion does not apply to any of the other CityPass cities.
In each city, the pass covers admissions to a mix of museums and visitor attractions, and if you visit all the included attractions, the pass prices are significantly lower than the sum of individual admissions. In New York, for example, the pass covers entry to the Empire State Building Observatory, American Museum of Natural History, The Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum or Top of the Rock observation deck, and Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island or a Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise. Minimum individual admissions would cost at least $127, so the $79 price is a deal. But it's a deal only if you use at least four of the five vouchers. Otherwise, you're better off buying individual tickets.

The deal in the other cities is roughly the same: If you use more than half the admissions, you're ahead of the game. For my tastes, the passes for Boston and Philadelphia offer the best mix of admissions; Hollywood and Seattle, not so much. But that's a matter of personal preference. Be sure to check for yourself.
