How to sell our week when we can't go

I have a Hilton Head Marriott 3 BR 3 Bath available 2/24-3/2 2012 but unable to go. I can get a guest certificate through Interval if someone's interested? I know this is last minute but wondered if anyone had ideas other than just losing it?

I am NEW to this site and only wish I knew of it before as I came upon it today as our resort is trying to push us to points -- we're not going there.

Unfortunately, you are not technically allowed to sell a week that you have acquired from trading through II. It is against their rules, and you can lose your membership for doing so.

You are however allowed to give the week away......As you've mentioned, you can get a guest certificate from II, and a friend or relative can use the week.

Has II ever said what is allowed, like Madge with RCI once did, exchange and guest fee?

BTW, those who have gotten caught, did because they "advertised" it on the Internet. RCI members have been reprimanded just for posting, not actually doing it.

I am curious as to whether you OWN this Marriott week or got it thru an exchange with II?

When u say your resort is trying to push you to points, it makes me think u r talking about Marriott Destination Club Points.....is that correct?

As Ang said, you van not "sell" an II exchange but can give to family or friend via a guest certificate.
If it is your "owned" Marriott wek, there is no charge to add a friends or families name to the resie.
