Selling 1 week in timeshare - need feedback

Hi all,

We purchased 1 week at a resort in Mexico through our timeshare with RCI and can't make it. Turns out its too late to cancel and we lose all the money if we cancel.

Is there a good place to try and sell this online? RCI said they would transfer for a fee.

Dear gtownrat,

Most of the rental agencies are completely a scam. The market value of timeshare weeks are very low. Most of the time they are impossible to get them rented.Why? because people can find better prices online than by renting a timeshare!

If you obtained the week through RCI you can't sell or rent it. You can "gift" it to a friend by paying for an RCI gift certificate. Agreements made with friends are your business and should not be discussed or advertised in open forums. RCI can cancel the reservation and revoke your membership without refunding any fees already paid. GL
