How long of a flight is that? I can barely make it through a flight from California to Hawaii. I couldn't imagine NY to Hawaii without any stops.

Lawren, you are an enabler but how easy is it to get a timeshare too?

We did Newark to Kauai once, it was 10.5 to 11 hours. We were in coach, too, but it was our first trip to Hawaii, we would have balanced on the wing if we had to.

Saw air yesterday of $660 or so from Newark - (not Hawaiian air) but couldn't pull much of anything for the dates needed- only found a studio on Kauai for a week. (Just as well...

I strongly recommend Hawaiian Airlines. We have flown them from LAX to HNL and SAN to HNL. We flew first class and the service was the best we have had on any airline. Hawaiian offers some great deals on first class service. Last time we went they had a special that was only $200 more for first class. That is a long flight to not fly first class. The first class seats are like a recliner in that they also elevate your feet which is very comfortable. They also have very clean new planes.

I suggest that you join their frequent flyer program and sign up for e-mail fare alerts. That is how I was able to get the cheap first class fare. They e-mailed me about it. American Airline wanted $3,000 r/t for first class vs $1050 for Hawaiian.
