  • Anyone looking for a Hapimag membership?

Cheap Hapimag resales are hard to find, because the company will buy them back at a decent price. I saw this one offered at one of the cheapest prices I have seen if anyone is interested:

What an interesting ownership -major European cities and places in between.
What will 300 points get you?

I have seen their list of resorts, and they have some great ones, but I do not know how their points system works. I have actually been inside one Hapimag resort, the one in Budapest in a medieval building bang on Castle Hill, and seen another, the one on Wencelas Square in Prague, from the outside. I was impressed with both. Even though I am not fond of points systems, I was tempted myself by this one, but it is not the right time, given I do not know which country I will be working in next year. They also had a couple of resorts in medieval villages in Tuscany and one in a chateau in France that looked very appealing from the pictures.

You might PM the guy who posted this at TST and ask questions about the Hapimag points system, or see if there is a link you can access to the points values.

At present the only way to get a Hapimag resort is to be a member. For a time, they traded through both DAE and DRI, but not any more, and even then they only gave those systems selected (by Hapimag) resorts.

We have several European friends who own it and use it (go to Germany, Switzerland and Austria mainly) and I never, ever hear a complaint about anything. It must be easy for them to use it or get rid of it nor do I hear complaints that it is too expensive either.

PS. I just read Carolinian's post and they must have a membership rather than owning it.

I'm interested in Hapimag. The website states you'll need between 15 and 180 points to reserve a week. That's quite a spread!

Pat, are you interested? I wouldn't want to get into a bidding war with a ts4ms friend.

As I understand the ownership arrangement, when you buy a Hapimag membership, you receive shares of stock, which you can then vote in the annual meetings. It is something like the shareblock system of South Africa and Australia, but for a points-based mini-system rather than one resort.

Not interested in this purchase but did think of you. I was looking at the website and they have some fabulous properties. The key is to find the actual numbers for the ones that interest you. Good luck and keep us posted.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Update for inquiring minds - I've been corresponding with the seller and we sent the necessary paperwork to Hapimag. Hapimag has verbally agreed to waive its right of rescission, we are waiting for the written confirmation, which should be received by mid-month.

The seller is a wonderful gentleman from the UK. Hapimag has been very responsive and organized in providing instructions and necessary documents - love those Swiss!

Carolinian, thank you again for posting about the opportunity!
