How do referrals and travel credits work?
Inviting people to Airbnb can earn you—and your invitees—travel credit to use toward a new reservation. Visit https://www.airbnb.com/invite to get started. For both of you to earn credit, your invitees will need to create a new Airbnb account by clicking the link you send them.
When your friend completes their first qualifying reservation, you'll earn travel credit to use for your own Airbnb travels. You'll receive your travel credit after the departure date of your friend's trip.
A qualifying reservation typically has a total value of $75 or more, excluding cleaning fees. These amounts may vary during special promotional periods. For each person you refer, there are two opportunities to earn travel credit:
- Earn $25 when your friend completes a qualifying reservation as a guest
- Earn $75 when your friend completes a qualifying reservation as a host
This means you can earn a possible travel credit total of $100 for each person you refer.
Your available travel credits automatically appear as a coupon on the checkout page when you make a qualifying reservation. Keep in mind that travel credits can't apply to a trip that has already been paid for, but they will be available and applied to your next qualifying reservation. Travel credits expire three years from the date they’re issued.
People you refer will see their travel credit automatically appear as a coupon on the checkout page when they book a qualifying reservation on Airbnb.

The US version seems pretty much the same as the Aussie version. I wish I had been referred by someone so that I could have the $64 credit on my first booking.
If any joins and I get the $25 after their stay, as disclosed by my first post, I hope it'll be in time for me to use it for our Europe trip.Syd
