Even if you aren't going now, sign up and visit the website. I just discovered a printable coupon for Village Pub, which is one of my favorite "locals" dining places. You'd need a car, but there is one at Flamingo and Pecos, which is a 10-minute drive from the Strip on a good day.

They are the sibling of Ellis Island, owned by the same company. They have the same sort of price structure, even lower in some cases. They also have huge daily specials for $4.95 most days, and home-brewed root beer that is out of this world. If you are in the mood for breakfast, a 2-egg, half pound New York Steak breakfast is under $6. available 24/7.
