Did you have to do anything special to get these? I was at the website and I selected the date that I wanted and the fare was over $200 so should I assume that the $8 fare was gone. I was only selecting one way because I could not get a round trip to work for me.

Was I doing it right? It is no big deal. I was just looking for a quick 2-3 day trip to Orlando.

*Fares must be booked on spiritair.com between 2:00 PM ET on September 5, 2006 and 11:59 PM ET on September 6, 2006 for travel on the dates as specified by individual market and by market direction. Fares are for coach class travel and reflect the spiritair.com discount. Fares are each way based on roundtrip purchase, and roundtrip travel is required on the dates specified to and from each origin and destination city. $88 each way fares are valid for travel Monday thru Thursday from September 13, 2006 to Decembere 14, 2006. A 7-day advanced purchase is required on all fares. Fares do not include (a) a segment tax of $3.30 per U.S. domestic flight segment of a passenger's itinerary: a flight segment is defined as one takeoff and landing; (b) up to $18 per roundtrip in local airport charges; and (c) September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement originating at a U.S. airport, up to $5 per one way or $10 per roundtrip. Virgin Island / Puerto Rico fares do not include government taxes and fees of $14.50. International fares do not include government taxes and fees up to $125 per roundtrip. Yes they get some great sales from time to time.
I flew with them once and have gotten tickets for family members. No problems.

I get their emails and have tried to book these kinds of fares with no success. Like Lisa P I get much higher fares quoted. And I even try slow days like Tues & Weds with no success. I think theirs is a big bait and switch scam, and thus I'm not wasting my time with Spirit's online "sales" anymore.

Carol I have seen the low fairs on Spirit as I even one time booked NY to CUN for about $250 PP RT. I also recall a few members being able to get the cheap tickets right after I had posted a sale.
