  • Alitalia Summer Fare Sale

    NEW YORK--FEBRUARY 5, 2007-- Alitalia just announced a sale
for summer flights to Italy from New York. We found many
fares at 30% OFF or more. You must book by February 19.

You can fly between May 8-Oct. 27, but we found the biggest
savings from June through August. To find the lowest fares,
stay over a Saturday night and return within a month.

    Fares on sale (roundtrip):
    - New York-Naples ... $749
    - New York-Bologna ... $749
    - New York-Pisa ... $749 - New York-Florence ... $749 - New York-Venice ... $749 - New York-Rome ... $769 - New York-Palermo ... $849
    - New York-Terme ... $849

Sample fares already include the fuel surcharge. Taxes,
fees and airport charges are additional.

For full details and to book directly through Alitalia,

Do they have sale prices from any other gateways? New York is too far away and the cost of a second ticket to get there negates the advantage of the sale
    .
I also wonder if they have other destinations on sale. I have been looking for a decent fare to Bucharest for early June, although with Alitalia, the only bad flights I have had were Rome to Bucharest (the trick is to get a Tarom codeshare - much better flight on that route).

I think just NY and Boston on this one.

I've been watching NY to LON and haven't seen a thing below $875RT for August yet...hoping since we are going late in the month that will get a "fall" sale to take advantage of.

For NY to London, you might try some of the carriers listed in the TS4MS Links, particularly Icelandair. To save the big UK tax, you might also try flying somewhere on the continent and then back to London on one of the various LCC's, which also gives you another stopover to see another city in another country. Of course, the downside is that none of these carriers have useful ff miles if they have any at all.

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye on them.

          Right now the fares are outrageous... 1 adult(s) x (768.00 + 160.59) = 928.59 USD

I'm hoping for Lufthansa if possible. Fave europe carrier and I get UA miles.

Lawren, Boston to Ireland often goes on sale with Irish carriers. Then you could hop over to London on RyanAir or EasyJet.

I'll be looking for cheap airfare for summer 2008 to Europe. Of course that's a long way off...while today's low fuel prices might create sales for this coming summer, all bets are off for summer '08.
