I'm sure she would also love to see the botanical gardens, something my son was totally uninterested in. The Royal Mile is a bit of a walk, but the good thing is there are lots of places to stop and eat or grab tea.

The difficult part is shifting her sleep schedule, which is even a problem here in the U.S. with her insomnia. But I suppose I don't have to shift it too much...she can stay up late and sleep in the morning!

Is the Edinburgh Residence right within walking distance of the Royal Mile? I haven't yet looked at rentals yet or anything.

Not exactly, it's about a ten minute walk "to the shopping district" (per the ad info) which I consider Princess Street which is below the Royal MIle.
If I have extra time, I will keep you and Rachel in mind, that is, if I don't get outbid on this.

Buy it! No wait, how many total t/s do you own? Maybe you shouldn't buy it? How much is the m.f. annually? All of these things have to be considered.

        Hey Carol,
You know the old saying, "You can never be too rich, too thin or have enough timeshares ?" Well, that's my motto.
Actually, Allen House expires in 2014, the St. Maarten-LaVista is an EOY and once I rid myself of DH (D=deranged here), will split the Martha's Vineyards weeks.
Plus, the Edinburgh week, right now, is cheaper than most SA weeks, but the bidding could ignite.
Hey, don't you want to come along some day ?
        B.

Yes! I loved Edinburgh two summers ago, but had to stay two nights in a Marriott (used points) which was not that nice, frankly. I'd love to stay at Edinburgh Res...want to go in on it together? In fact I'm right now looking for something in Europe to piggyback with a Paris area week next June. Hey, buy Edinburgh Res & rent it to me for next June!

Well, I was the only, ergo, the winning bidder for $1200 USD. This includes the transfer, closing and settlement costs.

There are resales which are priced better, however, they are not inclusive of the closing/settlement costs, so I've done just about right.

Just want to publicly thank you for your PMs which kept me informed of what the unit was like.
You went out of your way to ensure that I didn't bid too high and let me know the caliber of the service, etc. You took time out of your vacation and it is greatly appreciated.

                  Many thanks,

Cheaper than a SA week, except the MFs are a bit steep, but hey, I want to use and share it, so, not an issue.
I love Edinburgh and will link this to my AH week.

Congratulations with finding and buying another little "gem" that you will enjoy in the future. You really seem to like to visit GB. It is a beautiful country and so are many other countries in Europe too. Ask Angela.

The history is there and the beautiful old buildings too in many cities. I hope they will stay preserved for many more years to come.

                            Enjoy your purchase.

                                Beags,

Do all the Allen House units expire then?

I'm glad we were able to visit last Month, even if there were a couple of car bombs left around town while we were there.
