  • CRUISE, Anyone??

I know some people posting here are also members of TUG, but quite a few are not or perhaps have stopped posting there for various reasons. Anyhow, I'm not here to 'stir that pot' but want to make all aware that there is a great Mexican Riviera cruise coming up next February that is being assembled by interested TUG volunteers. As of the last posting, here are the rates:

Inside N is now $499. There is also an obstructed oceanview HH that is now $599.

Regular Oceanview F is now $649

    Balcony BF is now $799

Cheapest Solo price is still $973

This does not include taxes and it does not include my discount.

I don't know for sure how many of each category remain or how soon the group will close out, but if you are at all interested, just go to Yahoo Groups and join the one called "Cruising Tuggers" to see a lot more information.

Joining a group can be very beneficial for a cruise, whether or not you choose to participate with anyone in the group once on board. So, come take a look and sign up before its too late !!

    PLEASE NOTE:
TUG is not sponsoring, hosting or sanctioning the cruise and is not responsible for any aspect of the cruise. Those who sign up for the cruise do so with full knowledge that the only aspect that is different from making their own individual cruise arrangements is the opportunity for possible special pricing and/or on board benefits that might not otherwise be readily available. None of the organizers of this group will receive any cruise benefits or cabin discounts not otherwise available to all other Cruising with the TUGgers group participants.

Frank, looking forward to seeing you & Debbie in Feb. The price is certainly right and I am looking forward to swimming with the sea lions, seeing the cliff divers and going on another whale watch. I am a little disappointed by the turn out but it may be easier with less people. If there is anything you'd like me to do, like search out tours let me know.

Come on gals & guys, let's go. I have room for one more in my room(then it will be really cheap!!

    Hugs, Shaggy

The last time I was in that region we did some independent tours which worked out pretty well, as I recall. Well, some did at least - we did an independent 'whale watching' tour that saw 0 whales !! I'm glad you are going as well to keep us all in a lively spirit. Maybe some others will sign on; if not, we'll still have a good time!

Frank, What are the benefits and discounts, I see this cruise online for 10% less than the prices you're quoting.

I love cruising!! As a side note, check out the cruise forum for lots of great info..... Cruise reviews, message boards, bargains, cruise information - CruiseCritic.com you can join the roll call and meet people that are going to be onboard the same time. Also before purchasing your cruise tickets, I suggest CruiseQuick.com They usually have the best price.

There will be some on-board 'perks' that will be selected by the group leaders based on the number of cabins sold. In addition, the travel agent doing the booking is adding a discount of her own. Also, based on the number of cabins sold, there will be a rebate to each participant following the cruise. And finally, where else can you spend some time with a group who loves to talk about timesharing ?

I would suggest joining the Yahoo Group to get more specific information.

My DH & I just went on our first "mini" cruise! It was a repositioning cruise for 5 days, 4 nights. We had a blast!

I just had a bit of a sticker shock when I added up all the costs for this vacation vs our normal "timeshare" vacations. It really made me appreciate our timeshare weeks!

You are right - cruises can look deceptively 'cheap' when you just look at the basic fare and taxes. What really shocks most people is how much they spend on board as well as on shore excursions assuming, I suppose, that they have to do some sort of trip at every port and/or try to drink the bar dry. However, if you did all of those same things during a timeshare week (which most people don't), you would probably spend almost as much, when you consider the cost so ownership and annual MFs! After having cruised a number of times, I suspect many have decided that relaxing and enjoying the trip itself is pretty much all that is required, making it a much more economical getaway. Personally, would prefer do two (or 3) relaxing cruise weeks rather than one jam-packed trip, "burning the candle at both ends" - but that's just me.
