Car class doesn't matter, its just me and my 6yr old driving, we can fit in a subcompact from Long Island(Farmingdale) to Massanutten and back, booked from 2/18-2/25

Is Farmingdale the only area you can pick up from? Also what about by picking up at the airports? Since you live in LI you can you take the LIRR to Penn and grab Amtract to an area that is not so high priced? Not sure if it is worth the trouble to save a few bucks since you will be paying for Amtract. Picking up at airports might give you more flexability, Not sure what is at Republic which is by you.

$280 taxes in out of Islip, LGA and Jfk was higher. We can do better with Priceline this is just a quick search give me a few minutes while I do some poking around

How does $160 sound $190 with the tax. Priceline.com - Travel, airline tickets, cheap flights, hotels, hotel rooms, rental cars, car rental BTW if we bid We can do better but keep in mind this is a holiday week you better book soon

The price isn't horrible, i just wish i could find a way to squeak one more day out of that reservation, or atleast a few more hours, Check out is February 25th at 10am and its a 7hr drive from Massanutten to Long Island....I'm going to have to checkout a day early, or at midnight to use that reservation

ETA: Thinking about it, checking out at Midnight might not be a bad idea, my daughter will sleep through the ride home and the traffic shouldn't be too bad
