I just got bid accepted for an economy car through priceline for Orlando Nov 12 - 15 for $19 a day. It's about 1/2 of the prices that they were publishing. The car is through Alamo.

Yikes, sounds like some of RCI rental weeks at $9999! Is that rate quoted by Fox? Maybe it's too far in advance to get a real quote?

I reserved that car on 6/16, so under 2 months out. We turned it in a day early, paid 249.51 inc taxes and fees.

Like happymum I've also rented thru carrentals.com for Tampa last January, and can't recall the car co, but the deal was better than anything else I found. I don't like to prepay or be locked in, so won't use hotwire or priceline. It's possible I found Fox by checking carrentals.com website for Seattle.

Enterprise in Oahu & Thrifty in Seattle

I rented a compact from Enterprise for three weeks including taxes and fees for $81.00 a week and $16.00 for an extra day at the Honolulu airport.
They upgraded me to a brand new Nissan Altima at no charge when I asked for a trunk instead of a hatchback.

Checking the cost of a one day rental in Seattle at the airport on December 22nd the lowest pre tax and pre add on fees cost was $79.00 a day by Thrifty.

Car Rentals from CarRentals.com quotes the lowest rates for most companies but after you research which company you want to rent from, then go to their website and join their frequent renter program and you may find a free upgrade or better price as a first time renter.

Hertz has a relatively new economy brand called Simply Wheelz. I used them for a Vegas trip last week.

Hundai (sp?) for 5 days. $75 total bill. About $50 cheaper than thru Hertz #1 club with AAA discount(MN).

Fox rent a car San Diego

It took me 40 minutes in line to check out the car and there was no cruise control in the PT Cruiser but the price was $133.68 per week totaling $401.04 plus $53.48 for two extra days minus 7% coupon for a compact car reservation.
Taxes were $11.36 Tourism, $50.45 Concession, $39.14 State Tax.
Total approximately $495.00 for three weeks and two days with unlimited miles.
