as my own travel agent!! I just about cancelled my trip to BVI/Tradewinds as I couldn't get a decent airfare. I called RCI and they said I would lose my entire xchange fee (too close) so deceided to just hang in there and keep looking. I was up to 3AM on Priceline and found a fare of $723 to EIS (it was going to take 25 hrs!!! They were overnight stops in Miami but deceided to take it and wouldn't you know the dang fare went up !! When I originally started looking I could get a nonstop for $500 out of CLT to STT but thought that was too much and figured they would go down (who knew about the gas hikes at that time)

Well, to make a long story short I checked today and they went down !! I am flying with Delta (Priceline) for just under $600 a pieceNo overnighters but it is a long drawn out flight and I have to leave at o'dark thirty

Leave Clt at 6am to Atlanta to San Juan to Tortola arriving at 7P.

Return followin sat from Tortola @7"30 to San Juan to Atlanta to Charlotte. Arrive at 7"30 . Whew!!

I deceided to fly into Tortola instead of St Thomas as I wouldn't have to pay extra for hotel rooms, ferry, and extra cabs.

Well at least I'll have a legitimate excuse for not buying into Tradewinds, It's too hard to get there!! and the airfare is too expensive!!! shaggy

I hear ya Shaggy, I turned my nose up at a $400 nonstop roundtrip to HNL from PHX in Jan and now its $925. There is a 16 hr two hop trip for $649 out there... it's a new world out there...

I got a great view of Tortola from St John. It's where I'm headed (day trip) next time I'm on StJ. Jost van Dyke looked good, too. I'm glad you hung in there for the fare. Bring lots of SPF ! Have a grand time.

If you ever have to stay over for a connection (Miami, in particular), do try Priceline. I managed to get DH a great Hyatt Summerfield at the airport for $55/nt. Very nice, granite top kitchen, two bedrooms, Hyatt quality.

next time try using Yahoo! Farechase - Cheap Airfare, Cheap Hotels, Cheap Car Rentals I have done good with that search engine.

I use Kayak.com amd always check with both II and RCI. Sometimes they have bulk rate tickets and can save over any internet prices. Sometimes II and RCI are higher or the same but it never hurts to check.

We are going to St. Lucia in December and I already booked 1 FF ticket through AA and need a some more miles for my wife's ticket. If I have to buy her ticket II currently beats everyones price by about $80-$85.

Just so y'all know I called RCI, checked everybody (travelocity,orbitz, kayak, etc. etc. The one Frank recommended didn't go into July. I'm just glad the ordeal is over and no overnighters so I don't have to pay extra but will probably spend the night in Clt as I have an early flight. shaggy
