Any inputs on nice/reasonable place to stay for a few days at Christmas would be appreciated. Party of 3 on their way to Cabo for New Years week, timeshare type accommodations not necessary.

Some people just don't appreciate "Lawren Magic" when it is given them. You ask for Anaheim, I give you Anaheim. You ask for Christmas! I give you Christmas.
Picky, picky and now that one is gone. Weeks 51/52 is a bitch this close in.

There's this but it will be a bit of a drive to Disney and only sleeps 2.
You could call to see if they will allow a third. Some wil.

Are you a member of Platinum? Oceanside is an hour maybe an hour and a half from Disney.

You won't want to pay to stay at my favorite hotel out there:
Luxury Spa Resort California | Laguna Beach Vacation Resort

Right next door to my step-dad's place.

My favorites are the Surfside rooms.

I've stayed at the Residence Inn Garden Grove. Perfectly fine, but it's been a few years.

I stayed at the Candy Cane Inn with my daughter. Perfectly acceptable, and an easy walk. Dh went with her this year and they stayed at the Ramada Main Gate. Right across the street from the entrance. Sometimes you can get a better package by going to the Disneyland website and booking the room and park tickets together.

                    Disneyland area hotel alternative

                    Hi there,
We have stayed repeatedly at the Carousel Inn and Suites. You can look them up on:
                    carouselinnandsuites.com

Right now those dates are available for $149-$152 a night depending on the room configuration.

It's right across the walk-in entrance to Disneyland. They have a rooftop pool and a breakfast room that is open for viewing the fireworks and yes, you can see them from there. Their breakfast is included in the rate BUT does not include anything more than a good continental plus boiled eggs. No milk but does include toast, donuts, fruit, and dry cereal, juice, coffee. There are refrigerators for the milk you buy if you want it and microwaves in the room. There is a Quiznos on site. The McDonald's is next door, and the Denny's is just down the street within easy walking distance. There is an elevator at one end. There is a laundry on site. The staff is pretty helpful and friendly for the most part. They do sell park passes.
                    We love that place.

Check out Ridemax.com if you want some help negotiating the parks.

                    Have fun!

We've stayed there too, it's convenient, but not very large rooms.

But how much time do you spend in your rooms?
