Maybe one day we will see these guys come up with fares like the European LCC's. I just flew on Ryanair from Frankfurt, Germany to Danzig/Gdansk, Poland for a fare of one eurocent plus taxes (total 16.15 euros). Every January, Ryanair gives away free a large block of tickets. Last year it was one million free tickets. This year it was two million. Another European LCC, BMIbaby just gave away 44,444 free tickets. Germanwings just had a spring sale with 300,000 tickets priced at one euro plus taxes.

American LCC's aren't even in the same ball park as those guys.

        AirTran Air same as ATA?

I flew to Honolulu last year from San Francisco on ATA. It was a very nice flight with very good service. I don't see AirTran flying to the Hawaiian Islands. I thought I had heard that Hawaiian flights had been eliminated. Anyone know?

I flew from Atlanta to/from Grand Bahama Island for a week in February for only $39 each way plus the taxes and junk fees. That was an Air Tran special. Now *that* was the kind of deal Ryan Air, Easy Jet and others in Europe have...and I got it here in the USA. Air Tran rocks!

Yes this is ATA. My brother-in-law flew them non-stop EWR to HNL but it looks like they have ceased flying to Hawaii all together.

$70 each way Newark to Chicago and $64 Laguardia to Williamsburg and $100 to Florida are pretty good prices. I'd rather fly for $130 then drive in traffic for 10 hours each way....
