My Deeded BG week was for rent or atleat the same resort for about $80 less than this years MF + Club Fees. Was a first to see that. I think this year we may all question why we own. But in the long run it will all even back out and we will be "Happy Owners" once again.

The real question is not why we own. They are:

1) Why we participate in an operation that misuses our deposits like RCI does?

2) Why we are not rattling the cage at every resort where we own for them to a) educate all members about what RCI is doing, b) dual affiliate with II, and c) educate members about their ability to use independent exchange companies

Let's be proactive and spread the word in the timeshare community.

It seems RCI is the one that sells off the weeks cheap and makes timeshare ownership questionable. Tho I have seen rentals through II, for the most part they have been at or above the annual fee cost.

II also has some stuff selling dirt cheap. It depends on how close it is to date of use.
