  • Marriott Waiohai Referrel

I hope I am not posting this in the wrong place, but if I am I'm sure I will find out in nanaseconds! Is there any Marriott owner that wants to refer me to Marriott Waiohai for one of the Getaway Vacations? My state is GA and I can find the getaways for Oahu without any problems, but would love love love Waiohai!

    Mahalo,
    Donna

    Donna,

There is a member who is listing the owner referrals in the classified section and seems willing to help, here's the one you are looking for:

ps: this seems like as good a place as any for your post.. but if it wasn't, I'm sure noone would 'nanosecond' you over here!

Avery, you can refer her too! Anyone, who owns a Marriott, can refer people to any Marriott and get MRPs.

Imagine if we all start advertising all the Marriott properties or Hiltons or any resort that gives a reward for referring, like this person does here, it will become hard to find the real ads from what owners are selling.

I find it objectionable but it is allowed. We will get a lot of copycats later and then it will be very hard to find ads what is really for sale and the public may not be happy either. My suggestion would be to have a separate section for these type of ads.

        Emmy,

I do believe Ken is going to make it a separate section when he has the chance. DUH, I can't believe I didn't think of me being able to refer her myself!! Of course I will only be a Marriott owner for a short while longer until I can find an inexpensive week to buy after my sale closes... How does that work? Does the owner have to set it up? I didn't know there were MRPs involved, I guess that makes it a tad annoying if that's the motivation behind the ads, but still I am happy to know about the promos. Are the points for the referrals, or just for purchases? TUG makes the listers state what, if anything, they get out of the referral, maybe that would be helpful.

                  Donna,
I would be glad to refer you to Marriott Waiohai . A 6 day 5 night vacation package to the Marriott's Kauai or Waiohai Beach Club for $699 - $799 depending on your residence. You would get $50 Marriott bucks and a rental car for the stay. You can add additional nights or upgrade to bigger accomondations for an additional cost if available. Each vacation includes a Personal Preview of the Marriott's Kauai or Waiohai Beach Club Timeshare resort(90 minute presentation, you are not obligated to buy anything). Website for pictures of the resorts http://www.vacationclub.com/resorts/ka/default.jsp http://www.vacationclub.com/resorts/wi/default.jsp If you have any further questions regarding this vacation, or Marriott Vacation Club ownership, please contact me kdorward@comcast.net or

I called the Marriott myself this afternoon at the 800 number that is listed in the Marriott Vacation Club. First I was told that we cannot refer a friend unless we own at the resort ourselves. We have friends who own at the Waiohai and she gave me another number. Then I was told by another lady that anyone can call and request a promo package and I got a third number. They will ask you who referred you and will give that person 40,000 MRPs if you buy. She also said something about reducing maintenance fees.

The last lady told me that they have a better package right now than what they offer with the Friend Share promo and I gave that to Donna already.

Later in the day, our saleslady called us for another reason and I mentioned the referral plan to her and how confusing it was. She told me that she can sell the Waiohai too or any other Marriott if people want to buy without seeing it. People buy from pictures.

I was always under the impression that you cannot take a promo at the resort where you own but rent at a discount but now I understand that we can take a promo to another resort so I want to do that one day.

                        Some comments from my experiences...

Our renter last year bought two NCV intervals; my name was still on the rented reservation and the renter mentioned that we had rented to them. We got 80K MRP's.

A year after we bought at NCV, we were in Palm Desert at the RI and the concierge (who also doubled as a sales referrer) set us up with a getaway at Shadow Ridge. She also said we could do a getaway to NCV after owning for 18 months. She called sales to confirm the deal before collecting our info.

You can friendshare any person to any resort. The perks for the referrer vary by state but are spelled out in the MVCI owner pages on their site. In
California, we can choose either 40K MRP's or 400.00 towards MF's. IIRC, 800.00 is the MF's cap per annum. I don't believe there is a cap on MRP's.

When you do refer, be sure to check back. Sometimes info is incorrect and/or sales needs more info and you will see a message.

I am the person who listed all the Marriott referrals/friends and share programs. I did it to let people know about being able to get a nice vacation at a very reduced rate. I live in Pennsylvania and I would only get 10,000 MR points toward a hotel stay. If you live in other states you get alot more of a reward. I did not list them for the reward. As you can see I would hardly get anything from these promos. You need at least 40,000 to stay at a nice hotel.

The very nice Marriott Fairfield Inn right across from where we're staying (Holiday Inn Express) here in Colorado Springs is 10,000 points per night. Perfect A limited breakfast included, too. I've found the CAT2 and 3 Marriott hotels to be excellent values. Also, getting 10,000 points for each referral who does a getaway can easily garner one more points than for those states which require purchase of an interval, as the percentages of lookers vs buyers is hugely disparate, in favor of lookers.
