  • Adding and combining

I am quite sure the answer to my questions are within this forum.....I just have a very slooooow computer.
    1. I would like to know about adding move points to the 9,000 biannual points I already have. I bought from Mountain Loft in TN. The resort we use the most is Moutain Run in MI. Should I buy points from Mountain Run, or does it not make a difference.

    2. If I have (not sure) deeded week #2 @ Mountain Loft that is maybe "blue", should I buy points in "high red" week #51 or does it not matter?

    3. When I buy more points, I can have just one anniversary date if it's combined correctly, right?

    4. How do I find my "trust number" (A,B,C,D,E)

    5. If I already have bonus time, is there really a reason NOT to buy from an owner that wants to sell me their points cheap?
    Thanks for your help,

    1. It does not matter where you buy your points from. All Bluegreen sales offices have access to the same inventory (except, I believe, Big Cedar). If a BG salesman tells you that you should buy at Mountain Run since he can help you, do not believe him. You won't see him after the sale. Your best person to work with is Boca Bum. He is a referral agent for Pinnacle (BG's authorized reseller and he will help you get to where you want to be (pointwise).).

    2. It does not matter unless you want to use the 12 month rule. You can reserve your exact unit/week 12 months out and be guaranteed to get it. But, at 11 months out, all BGVC members with enough points can reserve it. Other than that, the "color" of your points do not matter.

    3. Yes. Talk to Boca about this one.

    4. Join the Bluegreen Yahoo Group. There is a spreadsheet in there that allows you to calculate your maintenance fees for various Trust Funds. The one that matches your actual fees is the Trust Fund you are in. Other than that, it is most difficult. If you call BG, they won't understand your question and therefore can't answer it.

    5. Depends. If bonus time is the only perk you are after, then No. If you want to get to Premier level, then you have to buy from BG or Pinnacle.

I just realized that this was the original poster's first message. That means you do not know who Boca is and would not have his email address.

Refer to the "Sticky" above to get his email address and website and for more information on his referral policies and for getting more points.

        cervix,

If you still have questions after reading Charles' message, let me know. I'll be delighted to help you out.

It turns out that there are many more complexities involved in purchasing Bluegreen resale points than ever before. As soon as I get a chance, I plan to create a new "sticky" at the top of this forum which will be an FAQ for purchasing resale points.

Yes, Charles' answer did clarify a few things for me. I'm just really confused when I look at Pinnacle's site and it has unit numbers, week numbers annual/biannual points.....all of which have prices that are also all over the map. Ebay and other resellers have points for pennies on the dollar. From what I gather Boca can fix it all when I patch together my points from 10 different resellers???? (By all I mean combining biannual/annual points, anniversary month and lowest possible MFs)

You know, at this time I just want to rent out the entire ski season @ Boyne including weekends and the two weeks of salmon run Oh, and maybe a week @ Big Sky. But eventually, I bet the "premier" status might have it's benefits.

Does anyone have a bunch of points that are not eligible toward "premier status" that they entirely regret obtaining? Do you find that more times than not you can't make a reservation 11 mo in advance and really need more time?? Since I bought my original points from BG and have the bonus time stuff, Will I be missing out an anything else??

We've had our points since Jan 2004, you would think I know more than I do.

Another question I have is about some reservations I have @ Boyne during January. I had attempted to book over the weekend, but found that the weekend was not available with points. HOWEVER the same weekend was available using bonus time....what gives?

It could be developer inventory that they have decided to make available for rentals, but not booking with points.

Or, it could be a glitch in the online system. I would call to check availability to see which it is.

There is definitely a nice strategy you can implement by purchasing a combination of cheap points and qualified points to achieve an optimal BG portfolio. If you want an assessment of your options, send me an email.

I thought bonus and points time were separate buckets of inventory, not shared.

For Club inventory (meaning inventory that owners own), bonus time and points booking inventory are the same. It only varies when developer inventory is added to the mix.

                        salmon run

What two weeks do the salmon run? I know someone who would love to be there at that time. Is that a time where you need reservations 11 mo out?
                        Thanks.
