However, $179 is the current online rate for an RCI Weeks exchange.

I have been trying to think of how or when I would use this. If I am doing a week vacation, certainly.
If I was going to someplace where it would be to rent a hotel vs. using the RCI points exchange, I guess I would need to know the points plus RCI cost vs. the hotel cost.

I have never used RCI, but I think this might give me more opportunities to do an exchange with them.

        RCI Affliated Resorts/Travlers Plus

Does anyone know if you everyone gets this being a Bluegreen owner and traverler's plus member or is it like Select Connections if you are a member of Bluegreen by a certain date you will be elgible to use the RCI affliated resorts or if not will you need to do an upgrade to be eligible.

I have not been yet informed of any new qualification requirements or fees. The default would most likely be that there are no new fees, but it is part of the Traveler Plus package that Select Connections comes with. We will find out shortly.

            small upgrade

I have unqualified points and am not really interested in premier but would be interested in trav plus/sc particularly with access to RCI points. Now my question is---if I add a small qualified points pkg--would I be eligible and would ALL points (qual and unqual) be available for hot weeks, pointsmart etc?

Just got clarification from Bluegreen this morning. ALL points, both qualified and unqualified, may be used for RCI Points. All you need to have is a Traveler Plus membership.

I do believe this is true for all Traveler Plus features.

More information from Bluegreen about RCI Points

I just received some additional information from Bluegreen about RCI Points. Here it is:

                1) I explained to Bluegreen the issue we have regarding RCI Points for Deposit. Bluegreen actually raised the issue with RCI. RCI said that this new program should NOT negatively impact our ability to use Points for Deposit.

Editorial comment: The official RCI Points policy is if a resort is an RCI Points resort, then that resort CANNOT be used for Points for Deposit. So, I doubt that RCI will live up to the above promise. But, miracles do happen. If there is an exception for Bluegreen, this will be amazing negotiations by the Bluegreen team on behalf of owners.

                2) There will be NO ADDITIONAL fees for participating in RCI Points. You just have to be a basic Traveler Plus owner. And, the best thing about it is that YOU DO NOT need to be Select Connections qualified to get it. In other words, ANY Traveler Plus membership will qualify for RCI Points. This is really GREAT.

                3) Bluegreen just told me this morning that the Point conversion table will be on the Traveler Plus website for launch. YES!

You said there would be no additional cost for participating, but I would assume there still will be an exchange fee?????

I just tried to use my RCI points account to book a week at Solara that I had placed on hold in my RCI weeks account. Solara is now listed as an RCI points account as are the two Orlando resorts so I couldn't switch it. CMV is NOT listed as a points resort SO I'm betting that PFD will still be possible using cottage weeks. Any thoughts on that, Jim.

Yes, that will actually define how the rule will be applied. Please, everyone, keep posting which resorts you see listed as RCI Points resorts.

                      So far, we have:

                      RCI Points
                      - Solara Surfside
                      - The Fountains
                      - Orlando Sunshine

                      Not RCI Points
                      - Christmas Mountain Village - Timbers, Villas, Campground.

                      Any others?

If the above is true, then Christmas Mountain Village UDI owners should be in good shape.

My best guess is that since so far anyway, it looks like Christmas Mountain is not listed as a points for deposit resort, it will be the same with Shenandoah Crossings and it is primarily due to the UDIs that prevent it from being able to be crossed over as such. So far, then, you should be okay. Maybe someone could check on SC, however they are able to check on the others. I'm not sure how to do it or else I would go in and check.

So, it looks to me, that this program is closing a fairly large loophole for RCI Points. As a Bluegreen owner, previously, I could deposit up to four weeks per year from any of the 40+ Bluegreen resorts until I of course ran out of points. In a way, this would be like RCI, a few years back, imposing the four week limit on an owner for deposits for one resort. It puts limitations on how much influx of inventory they are going to have from BG resorts. Now, they are going to receive a very limited number of Bluegreen exchanges from Points for Deposit from only a limited number of owners at two resorts and then only four weeks per owner. (if things pan out as it seems it is going)

So the bad part is, if this hypothesis holds true, we won't be able to exchange back into a BG resort, right? (other than CMV and I am guessing Shen Crossings)

                          Interesting..................

ok. I have never used RCI, browsed their site, etc, but thats it. Trying to follow the conversation, but I am now lost. What does this all mean to me as a non power owner?

Lets say I have 10K bg points and want to use them on RCI. Whats the story?
