  • Need Help - getting rid of

I am new to the board but read a lot of the posts... I need to get rid of my fully paid off timeshare... I have tried selling it without much success, tried donating again without much success...

    Can anyone provide any thoughts/suggestions?

    Thanks

Where is your timeshare located? Is it fixed week or floating? The most recommended sites for selling online would be Redweek and Myresortnetwork.com but there is also Ebay or Bidshares.

If you just want to get rid of it, post it in the Freebies forum.

With the economy being down right now, prices are really depressed. However, people wishing to add more points might pay more if the contract they are buying meet one or two criteria:

              1) Since one is guaranteed a reservation in the unit/week that is on the contract at 12 months out, some people are looking for contracts with a specific week and for certain units in that week. As such, you might enhance sale possibilities if you told us which week(s) and which unit(s) are on your points contract.

              2) Maintenance fees are calculated in different ways for contracts in different Trust Funds. (Unfortunately, your paperwork won't tell you which trust fund you are in and calls to Bluegreen will not be fruitful either. I have placed a spreadsheet in the Bluegreen Yahoo Group which allows one to determine the Trust Fund provided one has very accurate maintenance fee data for a given year.) As such, you might enhance sale possibilities if you could give us the exact fee data for a particular year. Another piece of information that is helpful is providing the date when the contract was originally purchased from Bluegreen.

Sorta thought details might lead to something. There is an old saying in real estate that the farmer does not want all the land, just the land next to his.

Bluegreen forums, mentioned, is another possibility.

Since it went so well for you, why don't you take the ones I don't want . . . then I'll help you get rid of them.

                            promise

(Timeshare Trap) Avoid Listing Companies and upfront fees it will never work.
