    1. PFD a non-RCI-points resort (e.g., CMV) into a pre-existing RCI Points account.
    2. PFD a non-RCI-points resort into a new BG RCI Points account.
    3. PFD a new RCI-points resort (such as the Fountains) into a pre-existing RCI Points account.
    4. PFD a new RCI-points resort into a new BG RCI Points account.

The last two are <BillyFuccillo> HUGE </BillyFuccillo> (and if you don't know who Billy Fuccillo is, count yourself lucky). This means that even though some BG resorts are now searchable in RCI points, we should still be able to PFD them.
    Steve,

Bluegreen told me the same thing about PFD. However, I am better than 90% sure that RCI will NOT honor PFD for Bluegreen resorts that are now designated as RCI Points resorts.

I say "was" because I now have an 8- RCI points account number. I'll call RCI and get it set up to work.
      Steve,

I persisted in this because you kept saying that BG was supposed to set up an RCI account for you which implied that you couldn't do it yourself. Now you say you did indeed set it up with RCI and RCI messed it up. It sounds like you worked with RCI and got RCI to fix it.

I think your next step is to register your "8" account online with RCI so you can do on-line searching.

RCI Points or a Crummy Motel, Take your Pick

Yes, it is more expensive to use RCI Points for partial weeks. But it is even more expensive to use Bluegreen Resorts than to stay in a crummy motel. Fortunately I can afford to use RCI Points for partial weeks instead of a crummy motel. (Did I say I don't like crummy motels? BG has spoiled me and I like it.)

How do you know the RCI Points resort you got isn't a crummy motel? LOL.

              No, that's not quite right.

BG had not set up a separate points account for me, until today (my new 8- points account). Someone, either BG or RCI, had improperly linked my Traveler Plus to my old, personal, 4- RCI Points account.

When I went to register the 8- account on the web site, it didn't work. So I called RCI. They said the account was fine (meaning that I could book reservations through them on the phone), but that I won't be able to do online searching with that account. I was surprised, as I thought other people were able to login to their 8- RCI Points accounts, but I didn't persist.

He also told me, at that time, that I would not be able to PFD weeks into my 8- account.

                Still has registration problem

Renewed traveler's plus, got an 8- point #, but can not register (it does not recognize the account #). Someone in RCI technical assistant department tried also, no luck (account # looks fine to them). Won't be fixed at least until next week.

They told me the same thing today.

They seem to be following a script of dubious value; they update one piece of information (my e-mail address) and resubmitted it to the server, hoping that would fix any problems. They did this yesterday, and it didn't fix the problem today. They did it today, and said they hoped that would fix it by Monday.

Seems like cargo cult manipulation to me, but we'll see.

And, no surprise to me, this didn't work.

So you are now able to access your BG 8-RCI Points account online?

Yes. This type of account (well, at least mine) has weeks searches disabled; only "standard" (i.e., points inventory) searches are allowed.
