Further BG/RCI integration coming in November

While I was on the phone inquiring as to why I don't have a BG-paid RCI account, the BG rep said that there would be further BG-RCI web site integration in/by November 2010. The idea is that we should be able to search and book RCI points inventory directly from the BGVC web site.

I did not ask if that would be a separate search from the regular BG points search, or if it would be integrated into a single points search page.

I would guess it'll be a separate search page only accessible to Traveler's Plus people. Isn't that how hot weeks work? (Don't have TP myself.) I'd be surprised if they integrate it into regular searches since it isn't available to everyone, but I suppose they could just send Traveler's Plus people to a different search engine that includes everything. But since they don't integrate bonus time and points searches I'd be surprised if they integrated the two types of points.

No, it's not an integration of BG into RCI; there is no control implied.

I got further clarification from BG today. I thought that you would be able to login to the BG web site and access RCI.com from there; he clarified that instead, when one logs onto rci.com using the points account supplied by BG, one will be able to do searches, etc., and see how many BG points it would cost to make reservations.

Far from it. You can exchange with ANY exchange company.

RCI is good for some things, like Disney and HGVC.
