  • Bluegreen Affiliates question.

I'm exploring doing a direct exchange with a bluegreen owner but I only like a few of the resorts on the bluegreen official website.

Does anyone have a link to the bluegreen affiliate resorts?

He suggested that I take a look at those but I think you might have to be a BG owner to log in to see these. Is there anyplace to see them?

    Thanks.

Here is where to find them:

    Go to bluegreeonline.com

It will as you to sign in as an owner, which obviously you ignore.

On the right, where it says GO in a big blue circle, click the link that says Learn More.

it will take you to a page with a grey banner strip across the top. In that strip, select Resort Locator.

The orange dots on the map are Bluegreen Club resorts, and the yellow ones are associate resorts.

      Thanks Anita,

That was a mission. I was actually sort of doing that earlier but the page wasn't loading the resorts in the background. I think the site wasn't working earlier because it kept staying on the same page but now it's working.

There was a glitch with the Bluegreen site last night.

I showed as having zero points for a while, and it also wouldn't recognize my password at one point. I think you got caught in the downtime.

Glad it is working for you.

I'm a BG owner but I've only been to 3 of our resorts. If you have any questions about the Fountains (doubt it - ha!), Wilderness Club at Big Cedar, or Daytona Seabreeze, feel free to ask.

          Thanks Anita,

No, the Fountains is definetely not high on my list as I've got tons of Orlando options.

Was hoping to get one of the lesser available resorts like Solara and Hershey instead. Maybe even Hawaii.

It does look like a great collection of resorts though. I might have to add a small contract to my portfolio.

Neither Solara or Hershey is a big problem to get if given enough notice. 11 to 12 months.

Pono Kai is a completely different animal.

Lawren, 11 or 12 months is impossible for me to plan that far ahead, unfortunately.

I've never seen these resorts in my options when I have been able to go. Maybe I need to start doing ongoing searches. That's something I've never done.

Solara is available as early as this April to BG owners. Not the gorgeous 2BR oceanfront units but available. The full weeks for Hershey over summer aren't but a couple/few days are and fall.

Solara before June is a no go for me. Water is toooooooooo cold for this Florida blood.

I was thinking May 24th to June 3rd for Hershey. Do you see anything available on the BG site for Hershey? I know it's Memorial Day but maybe the 24th thru whatever I can get and then maybe I can go to the Poconos if it's not too far from there. Is this doable?

Do I need a week in Hershey or can I see it in 5 days?

Hopefully then I can get some days left over in Solara.

                  What do you think?

Current availability for your timeframe at Hershey. Max is 6 nights checking in 22 or 23May. Personally I think 6 nights is too long. Hershey Park if is open is 1 or 2 days MAX, Gettysburg 1 or 2 days MAX, Amish Country 1 day and mall shopping a day or two.

I think4 or 5 nights checking in 24May would suit just fine. It is still considered premium time but I would guess any owner could get it for you.

Just check Hershey Park for their schedule before you commit to anything.

Thanks, that's what I kind of gathered from looking at the links from others about Hershey. I'll be with my senior Mom & Aunt so we definetely do a slow pace but even at their pace I think 5 days should be enough.

How about the Poconos? I could use my Wyndham points there or do an exchange if I find something. Is there a nice place you recommend that's easy to get for that memorial day week checking in on the 28th or 29th?

I've already been to Gettysburg and Philly 2 years ago so will skip that.
Was thinking to fly into Pittsburg instead to see a different city and maybe do one night there, non TS.

Am I pushing it here with the few short days I've got?

If you are skipping Gettysburg and Philly you might can get by with even 4 days. Washington DC is ~ 3 hours from the area too but that I would save for a different trip.

So happens we have a Poconos expert in the ranks. I will bring this thread to her attention. We tease her horribly although it is a beautiful area.

I personally have no knowledge of timeshare there.

Totally nothing on Pittsburgh besides the football team. Sorry.

                            Thanks,

I have lots of family in DC so very familiar with DC. We used to live in Fairfax years ago but now we're out of the snow for good. Thank God.

Anyway, I still love to go in spring but not gonna try to do that this time.
I'm trying to slow my vacations down to just one state at a time instead of hopping all around like I used to. Trying to take more time to smell the roses or whatever flowers you guys have up there.

Timeshares have taught me to stay put for a week at a time and immerse myself in the place. I do so much more enjoy this type of travel than my earlier years of....if it's Tuesday then we must be in Paris.
I guess I'm just mellowing with age.

Mom used to go to the Poconos 50 years ago. When I took her to Upstate New York last year and Cape Cod she didn't recognize the place. Said everything was sooooo different. It was like doing it all over again.
She was clueless to even places she had been like Plymouth Rock and Boston. So she's not much help.

                              Wyndhams Shawnee Village........

Wyndhams Shawnee Village is very nice. Wyndham is building all new units on the mountain side looking over the ski resort. If you book, make sure you ask for these newer buildings. They are worlds nicer than the original buildings.
