Did you ever book a cheap motel just for the waterpark tickets?

I feel funny for doing this, but did it anyway. We are heading to Oddessy Dells next week. We've been to Mt. Olympus indoor water and theme park several times so we were looking for a little variety. I found out we can book a $49 el cheapo motel room and get 4 armbands for the indoor water parks at The Wilderness for TWO days. A friend stayed there and said the indoor water parks (4 of them) were fantastic! So I did it. It feels a tad unethical... but we paid for the room and got the perk. Is it bad that we aren't going to actually use the room?

What's your opinion?

I don't see a problem with that. If you're renting the rooms to someone else, maybe, but just renting them while not staying there? Can't see why that would bother anyone.

You can use the room as a changing room and for someone to go back to for a snack or a nap. I see no ethical problem with it.

4 wristbands and a room for one very low price! I've done it with other things where you buy something and get something else as a teaser. It's just a bonus when you want both things but if the teaser is all you want and the price for the package is right, then jump on it.

Let us know how the waterpark is once you go...

Way to go! I applaud you in your efforts to save money. The cheap-o hotel got money that they wouldn't have received if the room wasn't rented and you saved the maids a lot of cleaning!

We are going to Odyssey Dells in Oct. All staying guests get free access to the water park. What a deal!
