Bonus points question

Since I'm not officially in the system yet I can't get online to see inventory, and not quit sure how it works anyway....but for the bonus time, does that allow you to book at "any" hotel, or, hotel specific? If hotel specific, are there particular chains or what?

We've got a room booked in Seattle for this June and was hoping it was on the list. Homewood Suites in particular?

Bonus time can be used to make reservations at any of BG resorts about 6 weeks out (if there is availability). There is the PointSmart part of Traveler Plus that allows you to use points to book at World Hotels, but this does not seem to be a very good value.

I must stick up for the TravelerPlus World Hotels option to using BG pts. We have used World Hotels a couple of times for hotels in NYC. I would say that pound for pound, apples to apples - the price we pay to use our points for World Hotel reservations is good to fair compared to the price we would pay with cash on the open market. This is a good deal considering we have pre-payed our points.

Here is another advantage of WorldHotels for BG owners - we can only use current (not rolled-over pts) for WorldHotel reservations. But if we have points that are about to rollover (and be very limited in the BG system), we can make a reservation for a date beyond the date of our rollover date, as long as we make the reservation B4 the points actually rollover.

Example: We have 5000 pt that are about to become saved points on 1 Jan 2011 (and will be available to reserve resorts within BG for seasons Red and below). On 31 Dec 2010 we can make a reservation in NYC for June 1 2011 using these pts that are about to expire.

We should be thanking BG for giving is this valuable option to use BG points.
The range of hotels in the World Hotels catalog is quite wide. Of course, an airline option would be even better, but beggars can't be choosers.
