    Just checked out Pinnacle. Wow. Lots of choices. I guess I do not understand why the location of your deed is important. At the Gatlinburg office, they made no mention of advantages or disadvantages of one place over another, but clearly by checking out prices at different places, some places are more expensive than others - looking at dollars per point. Is there any value to owning in Big Cedar or Hawaii vs some small resort in FL? If you get a certain number of points deposited to your account, and you can spend them how you want, how does owning in one place or another make a difference?

      There is the right to your priority week which is on your deed. You can declare the use of your priority week at 12 months out. So if you wanted Big Cedar and you bought a week in June or July at Big Cedar, you are pretty much garaunteed every year- your vacation spot at Big Cedar. If you are going somewhere different the next year, you relinquish that priority week into the pool for others to use. Then you make reservations at the 11th month for your best chances of going where you want to go.

        That's what I did. For my part, there was absolutely no hassle from Bluegreen about our rescission. We actually got our refund in less than two weeks.

        We are now in the process of buying resale through Pinnacle and looking forward to being BG owners.

          You should check with Bocabum on this board first before contacting Pinnacle. He knows BG backwards and forwards. He can assist with buying from Pinnacle (he's authorized for that) and can possibly get the closing to happen faster. You can still search on Pinnacle's website but don't contact anyone there.

            Great Information

            Wow! I wish my wife and I had discovered this forum or done some research before buying a BG plan yesterday. You guys have given us some great information and many things to think about. We are rescinding tomorrow and doing some research. The points sound like a really sound system and we are sold on the idea. We just need some more time to figure out what fits us best. Their sale's pitch was really good and we jumped in too soon!

              We are BG owners for a few years. Our initial package bought retail (at BG sales pitch) at La Cabana about 5 years ago and our "upgrade" also bought at La Cabana a few years later.

              Are we sorry, after reading on this board and elsewhere, that we spent more money than if we bought resale? Yes, in some ways.

              But Oh Well, we have pretty much enjoyed the use of our BG points, whether our own stays in Aruba or Las Vegas, our vacations on RCI via deposits of BG points, or resorts booked for our kids' and grandkids' use.

                Two thoughts.

                1) If we, and others, never bought from the developer, there would be no resorts at all. The developer has to make money to be able to develop.

                2) Knowing myself the little I do, I know that I never would have purchased on the resale market. And that means I would have missed all of those wonderful vacations. As such, I do not regret my purchases from BG. And after learning about how timeshares were good for me, I do not regret the resale purchases I have made.
