They tore down the ten year old hotel when they bought Christmas Mountain because they "weren't in the hotel business". In doing so, they ended the restaurant running in the black, a lot of golf or ski outings, and a great way to get some bonus time for owners.

Just was reading the postings about this on the Yahoo Group - is there currently any "cross-over" points usage between the BGVC and their managed hotels - similar to Marriott/HGVC/SVN?

Hmmmmm, could be a nice full retail/qualified perk

This is CURRENTLY the only benefit that does not transfer with Marriott resales - the ability to convert TS to hotel points - in that program it is generally not considered a good deal/conversion but it is still something worth considering.

We bought at CMV before it actually came down. The salesman told us that the hotel brought in too many which were not of the right "class". I wonder if they were drunken college kids? I wonder if the hotel was losing money or if it was a hindrance to timeshare sales? In any event, tearing it down improved the appearance of the place, in my opinion.

It was NOT torn down because it brought in the wrong class, unless the wrong class was owners. Another salesman made up story. There was an infamous remark after the reception building burned down, "well we have two down one to go" I never thought the building looked bad in any way and there were meeting rooms and a cinema in the basement, which was nice. But yes it was cheaply built, they never put it up for bid, didn't oversee the work, and the builder skipped out after the final payment without paying any of the subcontractors.

Right now I am on my 5th email to bluegreen corporate, begging them to send me my maintenance bill and getting wrong information each time I send an email. For this, they charge our association an additional $33 to send us the bill, which I never received last year and this year. so do I get to keep $33 dollars ?
