  • Priority Waitlist - am I reading this correctly?

From this website Bluegreen - Vip Bonus Time and Premier Member Benefits

    Priority Wait List

Premier owners may be placed on a priority wait list prior to the open reservation period for all available Bluegreen Vacation Club resorts in any season for any length of stay.

    · All owners – up to 11 months prior to check in

    · Bronze owners – up to 12 months prior to check in

    · Silver owners – up to 13 months prior to check in

    · Gold owners – up to 14 months prior to check in

    · Platinum owners – up to 15 months prior to check in

Am I correct in thinking that if 5 people wanted a 2BR oceanfront reservation in Myrtle Beach and there were only 2 reservations available - that the Platinum member who wait listed at 15 months and the Silver member who wait listed at 13 months would get the 2 available units at the 11 month mark before the 2 bronze (who wait listed at 12) and 1 'regular' owner who requested at 11 months?

My other scenario - If a gold member wait listed at 14 months and a Platinum member wait listed at 13 months not at the earlier, 15 month time frame - who would get the unit? The Gold who wait listed at the earliest possible time for that level or the Platinum member who wait listed after the Gold?
Does ownership level Platinum trump the earlier request Gold?

I think (do not know for sure) the wait list changes changes if the deeded owner wants the week. In your example, the platinum and the silver both puts in for the week. The deeded owner puts in for the week at 12 months out and because he is owner, he gets the reservation at that time. The other two reservations are not awarded until 11 months out, so one of the weeks is already gone. Only one, in this case the platinum, will get the other week.

I believe this is how it goes.

It's first come first served. If the Gold gets on 14 months and a platinum gets on at 13 months, the Gold member gets the unit first. Think waiting in line for concert tickets. They process the queue in the order they show up. It's just that platinums can get in the line earlier. If they choose not to do so, they cannot get in line retroactively.

          Boca, clarify this for me;
If platinum puts in at 15 months, but the owner of that deeded week wants it and can actually make the reservation at 12 months out, he does get priority because the platinum is not awarded the week until the 11 month mark. Is this correct?

If true, I would guess the actual changes of this happening are very slight. This means that it is a first come (higher VIP level), first chance of getting.

          Am I correct?

I am not Boca but I say the deeded week owner at 12 months trumps even the Platinum owner at 15 months - because according to my reading these past 2 weeks some people feel have a REALLY good deeded week at a VERY popular destination (think ocean front Myrtle Beach July 4th week) is worth paying a higher price for - to get the guarantee of that week every year.

Correct the deeded week owner takes precedence for that unit. However. I would be surprised if
ore than 20 owners exercise that right in any given year. Bg doesn't sell it that way

At resorts where they do conversions of fixed week - I imagine it WOULD be a selling point - get to keep your week if you want it PLUS have the flexibility of belonging to BGVC.

Now I am curious - I have several friends who own at Foxrun - what does BGVC charge to convert to the club - but of course I have been reading the debate on the Yahoo Group about which trust you are in is based on your resort PLUS when your ownership came into the BG system.

All I can say is - Thank God for Boca

You won't get a deed based on the fixed week you are trading in. You'll get one or more deeds worth the total points you'll wind up with. You have to buy some points as well to get a fixed week converted.

I believe that Foxrun is an associate resort, so I think it's out of the equation to convert the week.

I own weeks at Lake Condos and Pono Kai but BG wants too much money to convert them. I would totally do it, and it seems to me that the vacation club would want my good weeks, but whatever.

I see that now as I just got my purchase contract -actually, 2 of my deeded weeks aren't bad

Since I posted this originally - I am more familiar with 'associated' resorts...and yes, you would think they would want the good weeks....whatever!
