  • Blue Green Bonus Day Program

We are fairly new to Bluegreen but have used the Bonus Day program a lot, as we are Traveler's Plus members. I have two questions, and since Bluegreen is closed today, thought someone on this Forum might know the answers.

    1) I know that the owner has to be present to check in and stay in the accommodation booked using the Bonus Day program. I imagine this is to prevent owners from booking Bonus Day units for friends and family, or booking multiple units. However, my fiance and I own Bluegreen together. Can we each book a room using the Bonus Day program, since we are both owners - or is it only one room per membership number?

    2) It appears as though there are times when points reservations are not available at a resort, but Bonus Time is available - and vice versa. Why would this be? I was under the understanding that Bonus Time is only available when there are extra rooms still available at the last minute. But it appears as though there is different inventory for Bonus time versus points?

    Thanks!

As long as you are both listed on the deed, you can each book a bonus time reservation.

      1) You can have a bonus time reservation for each owner at a given resort during a given time period. The person who the reservation is booked under must check in. So, if you book 2 units, both of you have to be there at check in.

      2) Some resorts only have bonus time. When that happens, it is developer inventory that is only available for rent.

        Friends and Family Program

this seems like a good opportunity to ask about this program and exactly what it entails. we were told we were eligible, but I want to make sure it doesn't entail a "presentation" or update.

The Bluegreen Bonus Days Program, from what I understand, is only available to Traveler's Plus members. It did not require any additional presentations or updates.

Some people think iti s valuable, some do not. We have made great use of it. In fact, we purchased at Bluegreen last fall, and have yet to use any points. But, we have been to 4 different resorts, all on Bonus Days time. We live close to Orlando, so it is great for making a quick weekend trip up there. And, we were able to get Bonus Days in Marathon, FL to go diving over Memorial Day weekend - and Bonus Days to go to Charleston, SC over Mother's Day. A studio is $49, a one bedroom $59, and a two bedroom $69. We don't own a lot of points, so why bother using our points for times that we can get Bonus Days. In fact, we are hoping to use this program in Aruba.

The only drawback - you can only book the domestic resorts 45 days out, and Aruba and Hawaii 90 days out. However, if you really want to reserve ahead of time, I assume you can always reserve with points, then cancel and use Bonus Days if they should pop up - just use the points protection plan.

Bonus time is available to anyone with authorized points (i.e., anyone who bought direct from Bluegreen). Traveler's Plus give you access to the Shell resorts through the Select Connections deal, weeks in RCI resorts for 3000 points ("Hot Weeks") and various other travel options I can't remember.

I think Bonus time is a terrific deal if you've got a number of resorts within driving distance.
