Of course, it was going away in June. That's because you were there in May.

It would be something if they told you they stopped selling Premier memberships in April.

        What is the AIM program?

          Price per point

The pricing varies depending on how many points you purchase. To correct BocaBum the best price is not $1.25 and it NEED NOT be bought through Pinnacle, the best price is $1.20 and can be done at any resort.

          1. there may be a new presidential level...at 80K points; if you upgrade now, you'll be at that level "if and when" they roll out a new level. It won't be for a few years they said.

          2. since the public offering, they are offering wholesale prices now to upgrade: $1.80/point Is that really the less than 10K point purchase price per point?

To correct BocaBum the best price is not $1.25 it is $1.20 and need not be purchased through pinnacle, that can be done at any resort.

          3. Bluegreen will take all of the deeds for all of your other timeshare weeks, and give you what you paid for them (they would look up the deeds to see what you paid), and give you credit toward the purchase of a lot in any Bluegreen community, up to $14K. This will end you paying maintenance fees on all those other unwanted timeshares (fixed weeks and RCI points based weeks)

          This is 100% accurate.

          4. Bluegreen has the first right of refusal. I told them that unless I see them using that right to buy up inventory from Ebay etc, I won't believe it. If they have the right, but don't use it, it won't help narrow the gap between resale and direct purchases.

          5. Bluegreen is going to a 25 year right to use business model instead of a deed. "right now we are still selling deeds"

          6. If you upgrade now, you can participate in the new AIM program where they will take any level, and color week (they said that my AIM program, the resorts needed to be silver or gold, and only red season)

          7. The new presidential level would include three free weeks that could be used during any season (vs platinum owners have 3 weeks in white and blue season only)

I sure would love to ditch a whole bunch of my fixed weeks and my rci points, but it would require an upgrade and then a purchase of a lot that I don't want/need. They say the lots start at $14,900 (of course those would be the lousy lots...the better lots are 25-35K, with the prime lots costing much more)

How much of what I was told was true, and is $1.80/point the "going rate"?

          Thanks,
          Teresa

It's amazing at how inaccurate some of this information is on here. The best piece of advice that I ever received was from a salesperson a few years ago. If they are giving you any incentive (gift) to come in for an update be prepared for a presentation because that's how the sales people make their money, HOWEVER, if an owner is truly interested in hearing things without all the BS go over to owner services and ask to do an update. DO NOT get scheduled to come in with a gift or go through the girls at check in or get scheduled with a phone call ahead of time. Go to owner services when you arrive at property. There is no gift BUT no minimum time required to stay as well as getting straight to the point without the fluff. It's not counted against the sales team when you go in for free therefor the sales people tell it like it really is because their not pressured to make a sale. I've done that the past couple years and I have never received inaccurate information and been treated with the utmost respect. Having been privy to the inside info I laugh at the people that come in because I know what is going on.

LOL. You think our information is inaccurate? You must work at one of the resorts. Given all the lies and misrepresentations that happen in a so called owner update, only someone with an ulterior motive would challenge a claim that is only off by $.05 and then discount all the information provided on a message board because of it.

Bluegreen set the rate at which a Pinnacle purchase will receive Charter Member benefits at $1.25 claiming it was the lowest retail price available as the reason for setting it at that level. Obviously, it isn't exactly right since for very large purchases, they give a better price than that. So, for Bluegreen, $1.25 was close enough to $1.20. It's their claim, not mine.

Sure, you can get a $1.20 price point from a resort, but what is the minimum number of points required? 20000 or more? By the way, how would you know that $1.20 is the lowest price unless you work there or you believe some sales person that is the lowest price?

You can purchase a 4000 point package for $5000 from Pinnacle and get full charter member benefits. I challenge you to get a contact at any resort for that price.

Whether or not you are a sales person, you are welcome to post here and correct any information posted. That is how we improve our knowledge base in this community.

By the way, I completely agree with you on going to resorts and bypassing the gifting scheme to get information from the resorts. You will definitely get more accurate information when there is no commission or penalty assessed a sales guy for your tour.

You are welcome to post your pricing on this message board if you like and the owners can send you a private message if you want them to purchase from you.

By the way, I support Bluegreen's policy of setting a minimum price for qualifying for charter member benefits at Pinnacle. This way, it's a level playing field for clients who want to purchase from the resort or resale. And, if you fail to meet your numbers, you have no more excuses except you failed to deliver.

                      Myrtle Beach Bum,

One more question. What is your resorts current deal for equity trade ins for points and/or flex weeks? The last deal I did was a few years ago and it was a 4 flex week maximum and a 5000 point purchase. The price per point was $2.10.

We have many owners here who are interested in trading in their fixed weeks for points by making a small purchase of points at full retail pricing.

When an owner does that, they can get a much lower rate than $1.20/point for full charter member and Premier benefits.

If you have a good trade in deal, I have clients for you.

Myrtle Beach Bum, I have been to a few of the owner updates. One problem I have seen is that one Bluegreen hand doesn't know what the other Bluegreen hand is doing. It is not hard to ask a basic question and get a stumped sales person.

If misinformation is being posted, it is likely because someone has sat through an update and gotten that information from the sales staff. They post that information here. So the problem starts in the noisy room in front of a sales person.

In my case, I have multiple accounts, but BG hasn't set them up so they are visible to the sales staff. Every update, I am told I have certain a number of points when I actually have a different number of points. Of course, to them the only way this can be corrected is by buying more points. It isn't my problem and I don't care if they can't see the points.

If there is misinformation, we certainly would like to hear updates and corrections. But as Boca was implying, be sure it is apples to apples when you talk dollars and points.

Whoa! Apparently I hit a nerve! Let me clarify...I did not mean that your information was incorrect (other than the pricing), I meant that some of the information that we the owners are getting is incorrect. I read some pretty ridiculous stuff prior to my post. You Boca posted 3 times before I could even get back to read any of them!

No, I don't work at a resort, I live in a resort town as a Bluegreen owner with very good friends that work at Bluegreen, not just sales people but upper management. I find them to be very honest and learned a lot of how the system works from them. We as owners also have a responsibility to not abuse the gifting and what should we expect if we tour 4 and 5 times a year! The sales staff does do that for a living so when owners come in that have toured multiple times throughout the year without buying over the last couple years...what should we expect? In other words, we shouldn't abuse the free gifts and waste our vacation time in an "update". If any company is giving anyone money to come in for their time, expect it to be a sales presentation. If we are truly interested in geting new info, go directly to the sales office BYPASSING anyone giving you a gift or appointment time and ask to speak to someone. They will be courteous and polite and won't waste time with nonsense.

As for secondary market (IE ebay), you get points only and they don't combine to get you to the next level anymore. Maintenance fees will be paid individually with a different anniversary date for each seperate contract that is owned. I'm not referring to pinnacle by the way.

As for fixed weeks...the smallest point package sold is 3000 points. Each resort may have a minimum imposed on them by a manager but company wide is 3000 points for $2.10/point. Fixed weeks can keep their week or use them as equity to trade them in for points. Either way they can pick up points. I know nothing of a flex week with Bluegreen, I never knew that Bluegreen had flex weeks?

I happen to know quite a bit about the product to and don't mean to encroach on your turf. There are good people at Bluegreen and would recomend anyone to the resorts in Myrtle Beach...especially the way I suggested to go about it without the gift! 10-15 minutes of time and we're done without the hassel.

                                What is wrong?

Boca Bum, Hopefully I am getting the wrong feeling from your posts. You seem to be angry regarding actions by Bluegreen or the salespeople. If I am correct, please share with us the cause of any anger or change of feelings toward the company and/or its' staff.

This post is not meant to be a challenge to you, however, I am curious if you know something that has not been shared with the rest of us.
