new level and other "news" from the sales staff?

    Boca's always been pretty cynical about some BG salespeople. For that matter, most BG owners are pretty cynical about the sales staff. At the same time, most of us think the rest of the Bluegreen system is terrific. I didn't see anything in his recent posts to indicate Boca's changed on that front.

      I don't sense any anger on Boca's part.
      I too live in a resort town, actually live on the Bluegreen resort. (23rd year here). I have many neighbors who are in management for Bluegreen, a former neighbor is very top level. The people who developed the resort and sold it to Bluegreen lived in this neighborhood. I have been told many truthful things and many untruthful things by my neighbors and many evasions of the truth. Some of the information given out at the owner update is false, some is true.

          I apologize to everyone who thinks I have anger toward anyone. I don't. Often times, it is very hard to convey emotions on a message board.

          What we do encounter on this message board frequently are people who pretend to be someone other than who they are. Just do a search on shills and you will see what I mean. That is what annoys me. In the case of Myrtle Beach Bum, I misread his message to mean something other than it was. So, I was wrong about that. For that, I also apologize.

          My only intent when I encounter people who are posing as someone else is to flush out there motive and agenda. Believe it or not, once we know what that is, we are fine with the people posting even if the opinion is counter to what we believe here. As long as it's honest, we allow it. We like and respect diverse opinions, it makes the board stronger and we get closer to the truth each and every time.

          Regarding sales guys at Bluegreen resorts. In general, I have nothing against them. They do what they are motivated to do. They tend to be on 100% commission plans and they have a really tough job to do. Without them, we wouldn't have a Bluegreen Vacation Club. So, please keep making sales. We want Bluegreen to be healthy. There are some bad apples, but I won't be indicting the entire sales organizations because of what a few people do.

          I have said before and I'll say it again. Bluegreen Corporation has demonstrated to me that they truly care about their owners. All organizations have demonstrated that. The only time they slip up is when some sales guys intentionally or unintentionally scare owners into making purchases they don't need. I know why they do it, I just don't support that method of sales.

          So, sorry for the uncomfortable moment. It's gets that way on message boards. You should see how it gets on the political board. You haven't seen nothin' yet.

            I misread it the same way, I think. I was glad to be wrong.

            Perhaps I should have said Boca and many owners are realistic about the sales people rather than cynical. A cynic assumes the worst; most happy BG owners recognize that the worst exists but also that not all BG salespeople belong in that category. Certainly I would not have characterized the guy we bought our sampler from as a liar. Probably I should have just said I didn't see where Boca had changed his opinion, rather than trying to state what his opinion was. I beg pardon for any misrepresentation.
