  • Bluegreen luxury honeymoon suggestions

    Hi all,

I've browsed around these forums on and off for the last couple years and really appreciated all the collective wisdom here.

My fiance and I are getting married on September 18th and would like to embark on a honeymoon the following day. We had planned to book a week at a very nice all-inclusive in Mexico for a total cost of about $2,500. That remains option A.

My parents are Platinum members of Bluegreen. They have offered to give us 15,000 points to use for a honeymoon if we would like to save some money. Frankly, I'm unfamiliar enough with Bluegreen that I think I need a lot of help to understand what I've been offered!

    Questions and notes:
    1. In terms of looks and amenities, what are some of the nicest bluegreen resorts
    2. Can we expect to book a bluegreen room on such short notice?
    3. We don't plan to cook for ourselves, so we need resorts that have access to lots of food nearby.
    4. We have access to shell resorts and all that.
    5. In theory we have access to RCI. I am even more clueless about this than bluegreen.

I guess you can sum up my question to say: How can we use Bluegreen to get similar amenities to a pricey all-inclusive for a vacation starting on September 19th, 2010? Keep in mind that I am willing to spend money, but I am hoping to save at least a little something of the $2,500 budget if we go the bluegreen route.

Thanks for any and all help!

    Quick search

I did a quick search of the Bluegreen properties in Hawaii, Aruba and Key West nothing was showing for Sept 18th and the following week. There might be something with the Shell Connections but I'm pretty sure your parents will have to call and check reservations availability.

Congrats on the up coming wedding.

    Wendell.

Lodge Alley Inn in Charleston is available. I've heard that it is very romantic. Congratulations!

        The Fountains and a Cruise

I have an idea....as we are doing this ourselves. Book a Bldg. 10 deluxe villa at the Fountains in Orlando....and then take a Royal Caribbean International cruise out of Port Canaveral...which is only a short 2 hour drive away. RCI has 3 - 4 day Bahama cruises and 7 night cruises of the Freedom of the Seas (a favorite of ours). You might also check departures from Tampa for RCI. That too is about a 2 hour drive away from Orlando. You will stay under your $2500 budget on this.....and what a honeymoon.
