  • Charter vs. No Charter

My wife an I recently took a tour of Bluegreen in Branson. I really like their point system and I was very interested. However, I was turned off by their high pressure sales (which we were told there would be none of that). This is decission that my wife and I need to think about and work the numbers on. Anyway, we did not buy and were told that we could never obtain the "Charter" if we left that day without buying.

Now, I have looked on the internet and have found that you can purchase "resales" for Bluegreen. I have noticed that there are authorized resalers that sale with the "Charter" for around the same price as Bluegreen. I have also seen that there are various point packages that are sold at a greatly reduced price.

I guess that I need help in understanding the need for the "Charter". If I were to purchase the points without a "Charter", what will that allow me to do? Will I only be able to stay at the one resort or still use all of their resorts? Will I be able to allow family to use my points? What are my rights without the "Charter"?

Charter Member benefits are very popular for owners. But, there is a price for them.

Check out this link to see what you get: VIP/Premier features

The only thing missing is RCI Points which is part of Traveler Plus now.

      Charter vs. No Charter

It appears that a "Charter" only really benefits you if your a bronze or above owner. 15,000 points to be a bronze so if you have 12,000 it does not benefit you as much.

What about allowing friends and family to use your points? Do you have to have the "Charter" to do this. Also, if you buy one of these discount resales, such as the ones that you sell, Boca, is there still the ability to obtain a "Charter" at a later date? I'm really interested in Bluegreen and the way their points system works but I'm also a little "stand offish" because of the sales techniques. I just want to test the waters before I jump in.
