  • Interesting Update

I was in Marathon earlier this week and went to an owner's update. I haven't been to one in a few years and a lot has happened so I wanted to see what they had to say,

The salesman was new to Bluegreen. He had previously been with Wyndham so he was not new to timeshare sales.

the sales manager came in at the beginning to hand him my "paperwork" (history). He said to me "I see you are a very loyal Pinnacle customer" (thank you Jim). He then went on about how now you have to pay at least $1.25/point to receive premier benefits from new purchases. I told him that I was aware of that. He then said that he can beat Pinnacle's prices.

He then left and I taught the former Wyndham how I used my Bluegreen points. And a lot of other things about Bluegreen. At the end he came back and offered me a package of 25k more points (to get me to platinum before the bar was raised to 70k pts) for $30k which was $1.20/point.

Obviously we all knew I wan't going to buy, but I did find it interesting that they offered me a price less than Pinnacle.

I would love to hear what other members are being offered from Bluegreen. They have obviously killed the resale market for points with premier benefits,

So what is rumor/fact about raising Platinum level point value to 70K?

I don't know if it's true or not, maybe just lying to me to try to get me to buy. My point was that they are selling points with preferred benefits for less than resale

I will defer to Jim (Boca Bum) for the answer to your question,

It's true that the lowest price quoted at the resorts is about $1.20/point. But, that is for 20000 points or more usually.

It's also true that you must pay $1.25/point to qualify for Premier with a Pinnacle purchase. But, there are ways to average that down with unqualified points and equity trade ins.

I am betting that this is just another salesman's tall tale to induce one to buy NOW.

Heh, In May I was told that the premium levels were going to be closed by now. If I didn't upgrade to ~at least~ silver, I would never be a premium member.
