  • Buying from EBay

I am already a bluegreen owner that has a gold status. All of my current points are E trust. All of them expire December 1st. I have no wish to get to platinum with a cost of $1.20/point. I would like to add 20,000 more points by buying through ebay. Any advise?

Perfect timing. Prices are low. Buy as big of a package as possible to minimize closing costs. If you can, avoid the sellers who charge closing costs twice. (They will say that the resort transfer fee is something like $475 but that is actually a closing cost which includes transfer.) Make sure what you are buying is indeed in Trust Fund E. Have them email you a copy of the billing statement if you can. There is a 43,000 EOY on eBay right now that is all at Pigeon Forge so there is only one transaction to get you 20,000+ annually. (Personally I do not like EOY but some really like them.) Check with BocaBum. Sometimes he has packages that someone really has to sell fast so it can be quite cheap. Or he knows someone who does. And he will know if it is in Trust Fund E.

      Check eBay 380263364455

21,000 annual BG points based at the Las Vegas resort (which means it has to be in Trust Fund E) with only $498 closing costs (reasonable) are now on eBay. Auction # 380263364455

Trust Fund E is the most recent trust fund, I believe, and the best (cheapest per year) if you have a lot of points but not the best if you have maybe 10000 or fewer. The per-point advantage in owning a lot of points is not as big an advantage as it once was, though.

The trust fund dictates how your maintenance fees are calculated - Trust Fund E is calculated by a base price and then so much more per point. Points combine most easily within Trust Funds, so if you own Trust Fund E points, those are the ones you want to buy.

          Hope this helps.
