Points to Credits to Ads
Originally posted by max669 View Postmy question also is what is this credit stuff
If you look at the upper right of a message, you will see a number of points associated with a given member. As the member interacts, the number of points goes up. You can use the points to buy credits with which you can play a lottery or purchase ads. Regarding ads, the FAQ says:
"The TS4MS classifieds system is for listing timeshare properties for sale, rent, trade or units that are wanted. The classifieds system uses credits that are purchased from TS4MS points. Members can purchase additional TS4MS points if they need them and these points can then be turned into credits if the member wishes.
Make sure you have at least 1-credit before starting to add a listing!
Credits are purchased from TS4MS points. In the blue bar across the classifieds you will see the word "Credits:" with some number after that. All members are given 1-credits for joining the website free of charge. After you use those that credit you can click the word "Credits" and you will see an option to purchase additional credits. Each credit costs 500 TS4MS Points. To purchase credits, you need to have the required number of points and they must not be in your TS4MS bank account. If they are in your bank account, you need to withdraw them from the bank to allow you to spend them."
There is a lot more information in the FAQ and you can go there if you want more.
Hope that helps.

I have had time to think about the changes you reported

So, Bluegreen is moving to a straight points based request first model. No more deposits are required by owners. This will be viewed extremely positively by most owners.
Those who won't like it are those who pick their weeks wisely.
If you plan on making Bluegreen deposits for next year into RCI, I would do it right away. I think this may go into effect around Dec 1.

In the foreseeable future, it looks like we will probably have 2 new resorts coming online. We were asked not to share the names or locations of the resorts until they are announced. The deals aren't completed, so they don't want them to be unhooked by premature release of information. Suffice it to say that many of us will be very happy with the new resorts.
In addition, Bluegreen plans to expand the resort groups that are part of Select Connections. Once the online capability is built, they will be actively seeking other Resort Group participation. I really look forward to these new resort groups coming online.
This feature alone makes Traveler Plus worth having. Given availability and cost of Select Connections resorts, this could end up replacing RCI as the primary exchange vehicle for Bluegreen owners.
Originally posted by BocaBum99We spent a lot of time on the owner survey.
The biggest write in suggestion by far was for free internet access. So, when I compiled the requests, it didn't surprise them. I offered up the groups suggestions including points for internet usage. Wendy did write that one down.
For Traveler Plus, RCI Points and Hot weeks were the 2 most popular features. That surprised me and Bluegreen. I expected it to be Select Connections. After the discussion, I determined that Select Connections wasn't chosen because it has been pretty hard to use and people don't know how much availability is there. When Bluegreen enables online reservations to Select Connections, I think that will change since it is so much cheaper than RCI Points.
The most requested new resort area was the Caribbean. Bluegreen is making strategic choices in this area. Given how they were talking, we should have a decent flow of new resorts coming online over the next few years.

New Program with RCI
When I tried to quote, it seemingly wasn't going to include Boca's quote, so I am trying to include both below along with my comment here: It seems to me this is going to be quite confusing for some owners. There are going to be two different Bluegreen POINTS based RCI "exchanges": one for weeks and one for points (nightly stays). The latter is through Travelers Plus and the former is through the Vacation Club. But both will be based on our BG Vacation Club points (plus money). [I probably should have started a new thread with this.]

GrayFal's Reply: This will be a plus for those Gold (and Platinum) owners that get a "free" upgrade of one (and three) deposits per year with RCI from Blue to White. I am willing to see how the rest shakes out....

Purpose of the Delinquency Reserve
Since the large increase in our maintenance fees is being partially attributed to the increase in the reserve fund for delinquencies (from a historic norm of approximately 6% to around 11% for this year), can someone please tell me how and when the delinquency reserve is used.
Does it pay for the maintenance fees for the individuals that are behind in paying their maintenance fees. If so, what happens when they pay up or when the corporation repossesses their timeshare unit?
