Heading there for the week of Thanksgiving. We are thinking of doing the Belle on the lake and the Andy Williams xmas show. Can anyone suggest any other good shows? Places to eat..places to avoid?

Is it feasible to go to Graceland for a day trip?

    Thanks

Our favorite show by far was Shoji Tabuchi. We went to 8 different shows. We also liked the Dixie Stampede and a Magic Show that I can't recall the name of.

We saw the Andy Williams show and were very disappointed as his voice is so weak now. He should have retired years ago.

Here is a link to the Branson Show info:

I can't recommend any restaurants as we never found any that were particularly notable. However there is a Famous Dave's Barbeque now. We didn't eat at that one but have eaten at Famous Daves's in Las Vegas and Long Beach, CA and it is excellent if you like barbeque.

We just came back from Branson today. There are many good shows and places to eat. Although there are many to mention, I will only include 1 of each. Be sure and see The Duttons and eat at Shorty Smalls. Other forum members will have their favorites as well.

Way too much to do in a week.

The best T-day brunch is at Big Cedar Lodge, but it may already be full.

        Graceland is not handy.

I would include "SIX" as must see.

The Cat's Pajamas is even better.

I was gonna say that, but figured if I named one good show I probably should name them all.

Thanksgiving is Christmas show season, and Shoji's is especially good. Andy Williams is too. Others are too.

We like Presleys . . . good show and people.

              Pierce Arrow is very good.

Silver Dollar City and Big Cedar are beautiful during Christmas season.

              see?

We (my husband and I and another couple) spent a week at Big Cedar during Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. We saw the Shoji Tabuchi, Mickey Gilley, and Jim Stafford shows and went on the Showboat Branson Belle cruise. I liked all of them, but Mickey Gilley has always been a favorite of mine so I enjoyed that the most. My husband complained because half of every show had a Christmas theme and he was a little tired of that. I enjoyed it. We also “did” the “Ride the Ducks” and enjoyed that very much. We ate dinner one night at the Candlestick Inn Restaurant overlooking the Branson Landing--the food was great and the fountains on the landing were beautiful at night.

We didn’t get reservations anywhere for Thanksgiving dinner so ate at the Buzzard Bar at the Resort. It was delicious. The other couple went to the Andy Williams show that evening.

I have 9 albums of pictures I took during the week on my webshots site. Click on the webshots link below.

Most of the shows are regular in the first half and Christmas in the second half.

Shoji is Christmas from the git-go, and a major broadway-style production. They start working on it in August and September and take a week off (next week) for redecoration and rehearsal. Then it is very hectic for 6 weeks.

We believe Andy Williams is all Christmas, too.

Big Cedar & SDC are beautiful at Christmas. I go to SDC just to listen and watch the big Christmas tree.

                      We enjoyed:

Noah's Ark (Amazing show gives an interesting perspective on the story).

Dixie Stampede (you eat with your hands ranch style).

Spirit of the Dance (Irish dancers)

Dinner at the Chateau overlooking the lake at Sunset

The Duck tour was great. Takes you up to the top of the mountain for a beautiful view of the lake and countryside.

                      Hatchery was interesting.

                        Clay Cooper

There are many good shows, but the one show that I have seen multiple times in my visits to Branson is Clay Cooper's Country Music Express. Clay is very good and comfortable doing this show. He has been performing in Branson for 24 years.
