  • Travelers Plus

We just recently returned from a vacation at The World Golf Village in St. Augustine Florida and while there we were invited to an owner update as usual. We agreed to go since we did not have the new CD/DVD package they are providing owners now and were lucky enough to be put with a rep that was a biker like my wife and I. Everything went great until he started to question why we had dropped our Travelers Plus membership back in 2004. When we became owners Travelers Plus wasn't anything like it is now and we were unaware of the benefits it provides, when we found out what it had become we were VERY interested in rejoining and were told we would have to buy more points to renew. I told him we would sleep on it and went back to the condo and fired up the laptop, well to make a long story a little shorter I renewed our Travelers Plus membership for $39.00 a year with a waived rejoining fee rather than paying $6300 for 3000 more points to do so.... "Caveot Emptor" as they say....(Let the buyer beware)....LOL

Have you tried Select Connections, stevec? That's the one aspect of Travelers Plus that particularly appeals to me.

I think TP now has value to it for most owners.

The most popular features of Traveler Plus are

          1) Select Connections

          2) RCI Points (or nightly stays)

          3) Hot weeks.

Bluegreen will be expanding this program in 2011. We should be getting online reservations for Shell resorts in January.

            Encore Rewards Mastercard

We were told during this owner update we attended that obtaining an Encore rewards Mastercard was a good way of earning points to pay Maintenance Fees and dues and etc., has anyone had any experience with that? Of course we know it would only be smart if you paid off the balance each month....

I do not have it. I can only speak to posts I have seen on this forum. In those posts I have seen that there have been problems with getting the credits earned to be available for use. I have not heard anyone saying they really like their card.
