  • "Restricted Points"

Seen this on the Bluegreen web site today, where the owner summary is.

    what are restricted points?

  • #2
From the website "Restricted Points are Points in your Vacation Club account that can be used for reservations in Blue and White seasons and cannot be Saved."

I think I restricted points one time. I complained about a problem and was given restricted points that I used to book a nice weekend at the same resort, but in a better unit.

Usually "bonus" points, such as the 4000 bonus points they give to all new buyers.

I think the restricted points are also the ones carried over to the next year if not used in the year they were issued to you.

I believe I read that half of the point total will be restricted in the second year.
Example: I have 8000 EOY (every other year), if not used the first year, I have 8000 points available the second year. However, half of them are now restricted to only be used in a white or blue season.

My account currently is in the second year and I have 3700 still available until Sept 30. My new points will be available Oct 1. Mine are not in the restricted category since the total is less than half of the original. (8000-4000=4000)

Not sure if that help or makes it harder to figure out.

I believe restricted points are indeed, as an earlier poster stated, restricted to only blue and white time. However, the two examples cited by Norm are not restricted since they can also be used for red time since they are actually saved points and not some "free" promotional points.

Charles is right Norm. If you look at the Bluegreen home page, you will see three points categories: Annual, Saved and Restricted. What you were posting about is saved points.
