  • Renting out my BG points

Can anyone point me to a beginners guide to renting out points? I've searched without much luck.

    Questions are:

    1. Do I just pick a random week and book it with BG then advertise it on someplace like Ebay or Cragslist?

    2. Where do I find a suitable rental contract?

    3. Is an escrow service useful or even worth it?

    4. Should I pay the BG fee up front to be able to change my reservation if it doesn rent within a certain period of time?

This thread should probably be moved to the Bluegreen Forum, but I'll answer some questions for you.

    1) No, you don't pick a random week. You pick a week that has high rental demand. Usually a holiday or summer week at a desirable destination. Yes, you advertise it on ebay, Craigslist or any of the timeshare rental sites that charge a nominal fee of between $15-25.

    2) You can get a timeshare rental agreement by googling it.

    3) Escrow services work fine, but not really needed. Sign up for a paypal account and you can take credit cards. If you need an escrow service, let me know and I can point you to one. Fees are usually $50-100.

    4) I would not pay the upfront fee. I would just pay the change fee if your week doesn't rent. That way, you don't have to pay a fee if it rents.

    Good luck.

Shhh. Don't tell him all the secrets or I won't be able to rent my weeks.

Boca has said everything that I would say.
One of the pay sites that I use is resortnetwork.com.
I bought a short term lease off some site, think it was something like $8.00. I have modified it to fit my needs, but the base wording is still the same.
