We spent two weeks in Missouri last summer, one week at Big Cedar and one week in Branson (RCI exchange). Two completely different vacations. Next time it should be two weeks at Big Cedar (with perhaps two afternoon trips into Branson) to enjoy the traffic.

But the soon to be retired couple who know nothing about RCI and are about to buy a timeshare will think Branson and say AHHHH, let's buy so we can go there. Just like the family with small kids will say let's buy so we can go to Orlando and see Mickey every summer (how many unsold timeshares are in Orlando?).

        Like I said, a majority of one . . . still. . . . maybe 2.

            Branson Resorts on the Lake:

            Google

            Branson Resorts:

            Google

(To save the lazy the trouble of clicking, Big Cedar is the first hit on both searches . . . dumb google.)

But, yeah, sure, I know what you're saying . . . but would soon to be retired couple who know nothing about RCI and are about to buy a timeshare?

Oh yeah, have you heard the latest news, the NASCAR track planned for out in that neck o the woods? Seeking approval from the County fathers as we speak.

Here's a foreclosure out that way, too:

FWIW, for those who say they never want to go back to Branson, I've never heard Branson complain.

I don't go any more than I need to.

If they would just make the red, yellow and blue roads one way, two going one way and one going the other way, they would be driveable.

Anyone trying to make a left turn:
                • Can't
                • Slows down everyone else.

I guess I have gone to Big Cedar because of it's location to Branson. I am not a waterbaby, so don't spend time in/around the pool or lake. That drops the resort value down to nearly nothing other than a nice place to stay when you are not in Branson proper. I guess they have horses somewhere nearby, but at the last visit, it was too hot to be outside anyway.

I need to get over there and snoop out the truth about Top of the Rock.

                  If I can.

No one else seems to be able to.

I remember you whining about the heat.

Bet it almost made ya wanna be a waterboy.

Oh yeah, the water was 94.

Branson is soooo crowded... no wonder nobody likes to go there.

When we were there, it was 85 degees higher than what it is here now. Not a temp of 85 degrees, but 85 degrees higher than here. Just wait for 6 weeks and I will be able to say that it was 120 degrees hotter than here.

This was my first trip. Arrived Saturday..and was oh crap, this is worse then NYC. Thankfully, all week was great. Then Black Friday and the ensuing weekend. (I have never seen so many "No Vacancies" lights come on so fast in my life.....)

I grew up on Prince Edward Island in Canada, and it reminded me of there, ....when are the stupid tourists going home

I took the Long (Creek ) way home today.

Top of the Rock report: The berm of dirt hiding it from 65 is still growing. From an unimpeachable source . . . Johnny is still happy with some of the new course, so it will not be opening this Spring. They do have a Pro, though.

Long Creek report: Still about the same as when the recession started. Still no common amenities on site. New little entrance road in, new guard shack (unmanned). Registration is in one the patio homes.

Everyone knows they are really, really nice, right?

RCI doesn't give em much credit. Here's the range:

                              Deposit Trading Power
                              Maximum Trading Power 8
                              Current Trading Power 8

                              Deposit Trading Power
                              Maximum Trading Power 26
                              Current Trading Power 26

Also over that way, Branson Log Homes, which was renamed Executive Timbers, is now Oakmont Hills. It has acquired the tackiness of a distressed project, the golf course all weeds. Last I checked, the lawsuit by the AG had kinda stalled out, got to that dismissal stage.

One of the log homes on Devil's Pool Road is a fannie mae foreclosure right now.

add me to Boca's majority of one

                                I'm with Boca on this.

We go to Big Cedar 4-5 times a year. I'm perfectly happy ignoring the Branson exits each and every time. I think you're either a Branson person, or you aren't, just like you're either a Vegas person or you aren't. (I'm neither!)
