  • Representative to BGVC Board of Directors

RE: BG Annual Meeting and Proxies:

I was sort of surprised that I didn’t get more responses to previous posting. I would think that having an owner chosen representative on the board could be advantageous to all of us. While I feel that a much better qualified person(s), that I would fully support, should step forward; I will make an effort at trying to get on the board.

As I am retired, I have the time and energy to devote to the effort. With exception of some volunteer work that I do, I will be committed to this effort. I have chosen Blue Green as my preference in timeshare resorts and I have been very satisfied with what they provide. I do believe, however, that the services provided to the owners can be improved, the maintenance fees made more reasonable, and our Blue Green experiences even better. Well that is enough of the advertisement.

As I stated in my previous post, I have no idea what I need to do to be a representative and therefore I am soliciting information as to the steps that I or anyone else, need to do to provide owner representation at the Blue Green annual meeting. I have sent a query to Blue Green asking for information and I feel certain that they will respond, but not necessarily what I need. I have also, started researching for information, bought stock in the Blue Green Corporation, and I am in process of acquiring additional Blue Green points. I am attending the next annual meeting, regardless of this outcome. Does anyone know the date of the next meeting?

I would still encourage any owner who would like to represent the Blue Green owners to step forward and I will do all I can to support him, her, or them.

they are always in September. If memory serves, it's summer when they put the call out for member board candidates.

Good to see you stepping up!

While all of us would agree with the second statement in the quote above, most of us probably feel that that for any one of us to obtain enough proxies to win in the election is a daunting, if almost impossible, task. BGVC itself can't get enough proxies to hold a legal meeting.

That being said, it still can be worth it to have a non-BG employee type person run. That person could garner enough support to indicate to the BGVC that there are concerns amongst some of the owners and that the owners are communicating and sharing concerns. However, if the effort gets a piddling response, then that could indicate to the BGVC that there are only a few concerned owners or they are very unorganized.

          BGVC Board of Directors

First of all, let me begin by thanking Vicki and Charles for your responses. I certainly appreciate your comments and concerns.

I am making a firm committment to attend the annual meeting next year. I am also going to try my best at becoming a nominee to the Board. I still don't understand how to do that. Vicki mentioned waiting for a BG call and submitting a resume'. As soon as I learn more, I will post again. I hope to hear more from Jim (BocaBum) as well.

Charles, I agree with you that the major obstacle is obtaining a sufficient number of proxies, to make a difference. While I am a member of this forum, yahoo and facebook, the combined owners represented would be very few compared against all of BG owners. So I need to do something to appeal to the majority, and I do not know what that is yet.

BTW Charles, I appreciated seeing your comments on Yahoo today.

          Thanks all!

          JWK
