Getting on the wait list if you are after unit/weeks in either high demand time or in very low inventory time. Of course that means you have to get to bronze or higher level. Another advantage of combining points is that you will only have one anniversary date. (There has been a change in the anniversary date policy lately but I have not followed it in enough detail to discuss it.)

If Pinnacle can offer you a good deal, go for it if the above benefits are worth it to YOU. If not, you can get points via resale sometimes for just closing costs. That will, of course, change as soon as the economy picks up.

I can't answer the first question. I have not looked into it in detail. I would seriously question it being a good investment.

My current points that I bought through Bluegreen came with Charter points but not enough for Bronze. Didn't know if it was a big advantage to be in a higher level.
I already have travelers plus. and have used RCI nightly using my points.
So If I bought from another owner would I be losing out on moving up to another level?
I want more points but currently paying two different MF, one for my points and one for my week. If I bought from a resale that would give me 3 MF. Not sure what option to use for more points.

They will combine your points so that you have same date for all the points but the additional points won't get you to another level unless they were all bought through BlueGreen or Pinnacle.

So I don't get any of the premier level benefits or anything like that.

I just did purchase this year and misunderstood or I never would have paid the premium price.

But at the same time I love every BlueGreen vacation we have taken and look forward to all my future vacations.
So buying from Pinnacle is the best option. Wish I could trade my week through Pinnacle for points!!!!

In the past I have exchanged it for another location, but since RCI has come up with this new policy of week values then It is not working for me. Besides Paying the MF, I pay the exchange fee in advance when not sure what I want is available.

Talk to BocaBum and see what your options are. He may be able to arrange the exchange of your fixed week along with a purchase of some more points, all thru Pinnacle.

I would suggest you look up your fixed week in the points table for Atlantic Palace and see how many points it takes to get that week. BG should get close to that number with the points they are offering - or it's not a good deal IMHO.

About the MFees if you trade the fixed week: the 5000 points you would get would be in Trust Fund E. If your current points are in the same trust, the MFees you would pay on those 5000 points would be $225. This $225 would be added to your current points MFees for the total per year.

If you bought 3K more points, add another $135 per year for MFees.
Your current 6K points should have MFees of around $590 ($320 base fee plus $.045 per point) - (you only pay the base fee once).

So for the total 15K points the MFees would be $950 plus the real estate taxes.

I concur with the previous post. I would definetly get BocaBum advice. Since he is both connected into Pinnacle and is himself a resaler, he may be able to offer a innovative solution.

I would also suggest, that you may want to talk directly to Blue Green (BG). BG can provide points for your fixed week and take those points and combine them with your other points in trade with your purchase of additional points to make you a charter member at what ever level you want to be.

First you need to decide on your objective, there are probably paths to achieving it.
